Milwaukee 4, Chicago 3 (10 Innings) — Box Score
The Milwaukee Milkmen (2-1) edged the Chicago Dogs (1-2) 4-3 in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Impact Field.
In the top of the 10th inning, SS Mason Davis broke the tie with a single to center field that allowed 2B Aaron Hill to score the game-winning run.
Chicago opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when 3B Joey Terdoslavich singled home DH Blake Allemend but the Milkmen pulled ahead in the second as 3B Dylan Tice singled to score DH Adam Walker and then scored when C Christian Correa singled to left. 1B David Washington singled to right in the third inning to score CF Brett Vertigan and give the Milkmen a 3-1 lead.
The Dogs fought back to force extras as SS Tyler Ladendorf hit a solo homer in the sixth and again in the ninth. After his second home run, the Dogs loaded up the bases but couldn’t do any further damage.
Sioux Falls 5, St. Paul 3 — Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries (2-2) powered past the St. Paul Saints (2-2) 5-3 on Tuesday evening at Sioux Falls Stadium.
The Canaries set the tone in the top of the first as SS Andrew Ely (2-for-5) scored when 3B Damek Tomscha singled. The Saints tied things up in the third when C Chris Chinea hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed RF Max Murphy (2-for-5) to score and they took the lead in the fifth when 2B Josh Allen (2-for-4) singled home CF Justin Byrd (2-for-4).
But the Canaries took the lead back in the sixth as C Clint Coulter (2-for-4) doubled home 1B Alay Lago (4-for-5) and then scored two batters later when RF Logan Landon singled. Sioux Falls added two more runs in the eighth as Ely reached on an error leading to a 4-3-2-1 putout that ended the inning.
The Saints pulled one back in the bottom of the frame as LF Sebastian Zawada (2-for-4) scored on a wild pitch but that would be the final run of the contest.
Winnipeg 7, Fargo-Moorhead 1 — Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (3-1) claimed an early lead and held on for a 7-1 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (1-3) at Newman Outdoor Field.
C John Nester (2-for-4) got the action started in the bottom of the second inning with a three-run home run. The RedHawks scored their only run in the top of the fifth when RF Trey Hair reached on an error, stole second and then scored as 2B Christian Ibarra reached on a dropped third strike. The Goldeyes added three more runs in the sixth as CF Darnell Sweeney (2-for-4) scored on an error by the catcher and 3B Eric Wood scored on a wild pitch.
1B Kyle Martin (2-for-4), who took first as a result of the wild pitch that plated Wood, scored when LF Jordan George (3-for-4) singled later in the frame. Sweeney scored the final run of the night when Wood reached on an error in the seventh.
Starting pitcher Kevin Hilton earned the win for throwing five innings and allowing one unearned run on two his while recording four strikeouts.
