SIOUX CITY STAYS HOT WITH WIN OVER SALTDOGS

Sioux City 4, Lincoln 2- Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers (51-16) completed a four-game sweep of the Lincoln Saltdogs with a 4-2 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs (31-35) on Sunday.

In the bottom of the first, Nate Samson hit an RBI single and Jay Baum hit a sacrifice fly to give the Explorers a 2-0 lead. The Saltdogs cut the lead to one when Jamey Smart hit an RBI double in the top of the third. Lincoln tied the game in the next inning when Randolph Oduber hit a solo home run (5). In the bottom of the inning, Sioux City reclaimed the lead when Daniel Jackson hit an RBI double. Jackson brought the game to its final score when he hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth.

James Dykstra (6-2) earned the win, giving up just two earned in six innings of work.

 

St. Paul 13, Texas 2- Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (37-29) cruised to a 13-2 victory over the Texas AirHogs (18-48) on Sunday.

Max Murphy (3-for-4) and Burt Reynolds (2-for-5) led the Saints with each hitting a home run and driving in three runs a-piece.

St. Paul’s starter Matt Solter (2-4) earned the win giving up just two runs (one earned) in seven innings of work.

Kyle Barrett (1 RBI), Brady Shoemaker (2), Zach Walters (1), Anthony Phillips (1), and Aaron Gretz (2) also drove in runners for the Saints.

 

Gary SouthShore 15, Cleburne 8- Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats (38-27) outslugged the Cleburne Railroaders (20-47) to win 15-8 on Sunday.

The RailCats held a 7-0 lead when the Railroaders exploded for a five-run bottom of the fifth that included back-to-back-to-back-to-back RBI doubles by Angel Rosa, Trevor Sealy, Chase Simpson, and Levi Scott. Gary SouthShore regained control with an eight-run top of the sixth that included a two-run home run (5) by Randy Santiestban.

Quinn Dipasquale (1-0) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win
