St. Paul 4, Sioux Falls 3 (13 Innings) – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints overcame a ninth-inning rally from the Sioux Falls Canaries to claim a 4-3 win in 13 innings.

The Saints took the lead in the seventh as 1B John Silviano (4-for-5) singled home C Chris Chinea (3-for-5). In the top of the ninth, Silviano singled home Chinea again and then RF Max Murphy scored on a sac fly from DH Justin Byrd. But in the bottom of the frame, with two outs, 1B Alay Lago (2-for-7) singled to plate CF Logan Landon and LF Ryan Brett (2-for-6) and in the next at-bat, 3B Damek Tomscha singled home SS Andrew Ely (2-for-6).

After three more scoreless frames, Silviano struck one more time, this time delivering a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning for what proved to be the game-winning run.

 

Winnipeg 2, Fargo-Moorhead 1 (Game 1/7 Innings) – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes took game one of their Thursday doubleheader with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 2-1 at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Goldeyes took the lead in the top of the third inning as SS Wes Darvill drew a walk, stole second and then scored on an error by the catcher. In the fifth, Darvill singled home C John Nester (2-for-3) to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the inning, RF Dario Pizzano scored the RedHawks’ lone run with a solo shot, for his first homer of the year.

Starting pitcher Kevin Hilton earned the win for throwing five innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out two batters. Reliever Victor Capellan earned the save.

 

Winnipeg 8, Fargo-Moorhead 4 (Game 2/7 Innings) – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes completed the sweep of their Thursday night twinbill with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks with an 8-4 win in game two.

The Goldeyes scored in each of the first five innings, including two runs from C Roy Morales and two RBIs from 1B Kyle Martin. CF Darnell Sweeney and DH Logan Hill each also added a pair of hits for the Goldeyes.

For the RedHawks, 3B Leobaldo Pina went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored and LF Correlle Prime went 2-for-2. CF Brennan Metzger added a solo home run.

 

Chicago 7, Milwaukee 2 – Box Score

The Chicago Dogs (6-10) rode a hot start to a 7-2 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen at Franklin Field Thursday night.

1B K.C. Hobson started the action with a single that scored 2B Edwin Arroyo (2-for-5) in the top of the first and, in the next at-bat, SS Tyler Ladendorf lifted a sac fly to score DH Joey Terdoslavich. The Dogs doubled down in the second as C Ryan Haug scored when CF Michael Crouse reached on an error and Crouse scored as Terdoslavich singled.

In the fourth, Crouse added a sac fly and Arroyo doubled home Haug and, in the fifth, RF Victor Roache pitched in a solo homer.

The Milkmen’s only runs came in the seventh when LF Adam Walker (2-for-3) hit a two-run home run, scoring 1B David Washington, for his fourth roundtripper of 2020.
