SAINTS TACKLE MILKMEN; MOVE OVER .500 ON THE YEAR

St. Paul 5, Milwaukee 3 – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (20-19) moved back over .500 for the year for the first time since July 6 with a 5-3 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Field.

The Saints struck first as LF Alonzo Harris scored in the top of the fourth when SS Nate Samson reached on an error. The Milkmen tied the score in the fifth when an RBI single from DH Aaron Hill and took the lead in the sixth with a two-run home run from LF Adam Walker (2-for-4). In the seventh, 2B Josh Allen and 1B John Silviano (2-for-4) both hit solo homers and CF Mikey Reynolds added an RBI double to take the lead.

The Saints added an insurance run in the ninth when RF Troy Alexander (2-for-3) hit his fifth homer of the year.

Starting pitcher Ryan Zimmerman improved to 4-1 on the year with the win on Sunday. He worked 6.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and had three strikeouts.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 10, Chicago 3 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks completed the sweep of the Chicago Dogs with a 10-3 win on Sunday afternoon at Newman Outdoor Field.

The RedHawks racked up 14 hits in the game while the RedHawks pitching staff allowed just four hits. Seven different RedHawks recorded hits in the game and six of them had more than one. RF Correlle Prime went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and CF Forrestt Allday went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored. 3B Leobaldo Pina and SS Christian Ibarra each had a pair of hits with three RBIs.

DH Drew Ward and 1B Dylan Kelly each added a pair of hits as well.

For the Dogs, 3B Joey Terdolsavich had all three of the team’s RBIs including a two-run homer in the fourth.

Reliever Ryan Williams earned the win for four innings of work in which he allowed one run on one hit, issued one walk and struck out one batter.

 

Winnipeg 16, Sioux Falls 4 – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (23-15) extended their lead in the American Association standings with a 16-4 win against the Sioux Falls Canaries on Sunday evening at Sioux Falls Stadium.

The Goldeyes tallied 17 hits in the game as eight different batters had at least one hit in the game. Lead-off hitter SS Wes Darville went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored including his third homer of the season. LF Dario Pizzano went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and CF Jonathan Moroney went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored including a three-run homer in the fourth inning.

RF Logan Hill and DH Eric Wood each added two hits and Hill had two RBIs and Wood added three runs.

For the Canaries, DH Roy Morales and 3B Damek Tomscha each had three hits and CF Logan Landon and C Clint Coulter added a pair of hits.

The Goldeyes begin a crucial series with the second-place Milwaukee Milkmen on Tuesday.
