Winnipeg 13, Texas 0 – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes blanked the Texas AirHogs 13-0 thanks to a complete game shutout from starting pitcher Tyler Herron.

Herron allowed just seven hits in the game and struck out five batters. Herron needed just 112 pitches to finish off the game, 78 of which went for strikes. No AirHogs batter had more than one hit against Herron.

The Goldeyes backed him up with more than enough run support, tallying 16 hits, one each from nine different batters. CF Reggie Abercrombie (2-for-5, 5 RBIs) and 2B Tucker Nathans each hit home runs on the night for the Goldeyes. RF Josh Romanski, LF Jordan Ebert and C Tyler Baker also had solid performances at the plate as they each had three hits.

 

Kansas City 6, Lincoln 3 – Box Score

One big inning for the Kansas City T-Bones proved to be enough as they topped the Lincoln Saltdogs 6-3.

The T-Bones took control of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as 3B Mason Davis hit a leadoff double and then scored when 2B Colin Walsh singled. 1B Noah Perio Jr. (2-for-4) added an RBI single in the next at-bat and after C Adrian Nieto was hit by a pitch, Walsh scored on an error. LF Dexter Kjerstad added a sac fly and RF Keith Curcio pushed the fifth run of the inning across with a single that plated Nieto.

CF Todd Cunningham went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

All of Lincoln’s runs came in the top of the sixth. In the frame, RF Randolph Oduber hit an RBI single, 1B Dan Johnson lifted a sac fly and DH Brandon Jacobs doubled in CF Angel Reyes.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 10, Chicago 5 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks doubled up the Chicago Dogs 10-5 after a hot start on Wednesday morning.

The RedHawks scored nine runs before the Dogs found the board in the bottom of the seventh inning. RF Tim Colwell (2-for-5) provided the first runs of the night with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. The RedHawks left the yard again in the fourth inning when 1B Chris Jacobs (3-for-5) hit a three-run home run and then C Charlie Valerio hit a solo shot in the next at-bat.

All told, the RedHawks hit six home runs on the night as LF Brennan Metzger, DH Keury De La Cruz (4-for-5) and 3B Leobaldo Pina (2-for-5) each homered in the back half of the game.

For the Dogs, CF Kenny Wilson led the team with three hits and two runs scored.

 

Sioux City 11, Cleburne 2 – Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers racked up 13 hits on their way to an 11-2 win against the Cleburne Railroaders.

Cleburne’s SS Angel Rosa hit a home run in the first at-bat of the game but 2B Jay Baum countered with a grand slam for the Explorers and Sioux City never trailed again. Cleburne’s only other run of evening came when 2B Angelo Gumbs (2-for-4) hit a solo shot of his own in the top of the fourth.

3B Jose Sermo, who went 4-for-4 on the day, added a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh for the Explorers, his 11th of 2018. Three other Explorers each had two-hit performances including DH David Kerian who added two RBIs.

 

Gary SouthShore 15, Sioux Falls 3 – Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats rolled to a 15-3 win against the Sioux Falls Canaries thanks to an offensive explosion.

The RailCats turned 15 hits into 15 runs and saw multi-hit games from five different batters. CF D.K. Carey went 4-for-6 on the night with an RBI and two runs scored. 2B Garrett Copeland and C Andy Paz went 3-for-5 and Paz as well as 3B Randy Santiesteban each had four RBIs.

SS Will Savage also added two his and a run scored. Eight of the nine batters in the RailCats’ order recorded at least one RBI.

For the Canaries, 1B David Bergin hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth.
