Chicago 6, Winnipeg 5- Box Score

The Chicago Dogs edged the Winnipeg Goldeyes 6-5 on Sunday.

The Dogs scored their go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh. The inning went single, fielder’s choice, single to put runners on the corners. Craig Maddox came through with a game winning single to score Edwin Arroyo.

Dalton Blaser hit the game’s only home run, a two-run shot that scored Maddox who reached earlier on a double.

Jordan Ebert paced the Goldeyes, going 2-3 at the plate with two double and an RBI.

Brandon Shimo was awarded the win after pitching a scoreless seventh and eighth. Kaohi Downing was awarded the save for pitching a scoreless ninth.

Lincoln 16, Sioux Falls 5- Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs batted their way to a 16-5 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries on Sunday.

The game was scoreless until the top of the third when Ricard Dashenko led off with a solo home run. The Saltdogs would go on to score a total of seven runs in the frame with three coming on an Angel Reyes  home run.

Sioux Falls  scored two in the fourth and one in the fifth before cutting the deficit to two by in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double by Maxx Garrett.

7-5 is the closest the game would get though. Lincoln regained control in the next frame with a two run home run by Curt Smith before scoring one in the eighth and six in the ninth.

Austin Robichaux was awarded the win, allowing four earned on six hits and two walks while striking out three in 5.1 innings of work.

Kansas City 13, Wichita 2- Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones scored five in the bottom of the first and never looked back in a 13-2 win over the Wichita Wingnuts on Sunday.

The T-Bones batted through the lineup in the first with Zach Walters, Dexter Kjerstad (2 RBI), Adrian Nieto, and Tucker Pennell all picking up RBIs in the frame.

Logan Trowbridge hit a two-run home run in the next fram to give the Wingnuts their only runs of the game. Kansas City would go on to score one in the second, three in the fourth, two in seventh, and one in the eighth. Every T-Bones batter collected at least one hit in the game, contributing to the 18 hit total.

Lucas Irvine was sharp on the mound for Kansas City, making just the one mistake in the top of the second. Irvine earned the win, giving up just two earned on four hits and one walk while striking out six in six innings.


Cleburne 1, St. Paul 0-
Box Score

Five Cleburne pitchers combined for a 1-0 shutout win against the St. Paul Saints on Sunday.

Cleburne managed just four runners in the game, but they made them count. With the game tied 0-0 in the bottom of the seventh, KC Huth walked to begin the inning before advancing to second on a ground ball in the next at bat. Then, Patrick Palmeiro delivered what proved to be a game winning single to score Huth from second.

The Saints stranded 13 runners in the contest, loading the bases three times without scoring a run.

Michael Gunn (5 innings), Josh Hodges (1), Will Mathis (0.2), Shawn Blackwell (1.1), and Tyler Wilson (1) all pitched for Cleburne in the shutout.

Blackwell was awarded the win and Wilson was awarded the save.

Fargo-Moorhead 10, Gary SouthShore 2- Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks clubbed four home runs in a 10-2 win over the Gary SouthShore Railcats on Sunday.

The power surge started with the game tied 1-1 in the top of the fourth when Keury De La Cruz, who finished the day going 3-5 with four RBI, clubbed a three-run home run. The scored= sat at 3-1 until the top of the sixth when Tommy Mendonca hit a two-run home run before Joe Deluca homered in the next at bat.

Charlie Valerio hit the final home run, driving in De La Cruz who reached on an RBI single in the previous at bat. Valerio, De La Cruz, and Leobaldo Pina all collected three hits in the Fargo-Moorhead win.

Alex Crosby went 2-5 with a solo home run for Gary SouthShore.

Sebastian Kessay was awarded the win, giving up two earned on six hits and five walks while striking out three in five innings of work.

Sioux City 10, Texas 2- Box Score

Jose Sermo led the Sioux City Explorers to a 10-2 win over the Texas AirHogs on Sunday.

Sermo ended the game going 2-3 at the dish with a double, a triple, three runs scored, one stolen base and three RBI.

Taylor Jordan was awarded the win, giving up two earned on six hits and one walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings.

Stewart Ijames paced the AirHogs, going 1-4 with an RBI triple.
