Cleburne 3, St. Paul 2 (11 Innings) – Box Score
The St. Paul Saints scored in the very first at-bat of the game and the Cleburne Railroaders scored in the final one to provide a 3-2 walk-off win in the 11th inning for Cleburne.
2B Josh Allen (2-for-4) hit a solo home run off the second pitch of the night to put the Saints ahead 1-0. 1B Levi Scott leveled the score in the second inning with a solo shot of his own. SS Alex Polston pushed the Railroaders in front in the fifth as he scored on a pass ball but the Saints tied things up again in the top of the ninth inning when 3B Dante Bichette Jr. (3-for-4) singled home RF Richard Prigatano (3-for-5).
After a scoreless 10th, C Blake Grant-Parks (2-for-4) took first on a dropped third strike to lead off the 11th and came around to score the game-winning run as CF K.C. Huth singled one out later.
Wichita 3, Kansas City 1 (10 Innings) – Box Score
In the top of the 10th inning, 2B Ryne Willard (2-for-5) blasted a two-run home run to make the difference in a 3-1 win against the Kansas City T-Bones.
The game was tied at 1-1 after nine innings thanks to an eventful third inning. In the top of the third, CF Logan Watkins scored when 1B Abel Nieves bounced out to the second baseman. That run gave Wichita a 1-0 lead but it only lasted until the bottom of the frame as 2B Dylan Tice (3-for-5) singled home SS Angel Rosa to tie things back up.
The score remained deadlocked until the 10th where SS Leo Vargas drew a leadoff walk and then Willard unleashed on a 1-1 delivery for his first home run of the season.
Sioux City 4, Texas 2 – Box Score
With a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning, the Sioux City Explorers worked past the Texas AirHogs 4-2.
Sioux City drew first blood as DH Daniel Jackson (2-for-3) scored in the top of third inning after RF Michael Lang (3-for-5) reached base thanks to an error. But the AirHogs took the lead in the bottom of the frame when LF Dillon Thomas (2-for-4) doubled home both 1B Chu Fujia (2-for-3)and RF Lu Zhenhong. 1B Dexture McCall (2-for-5) tied things back up at 2-2 with a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning.
The score stayed level until the seventh inning when SS Nate Samson lifted a sac fly that plated Jackson and, later in the inning, Lang scored as McCall singled.
Winnipeg 6, Chicago 5 – Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldyes broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the ninth inning to claim a 6-5 win against the Chicago Dogs.
It was LF Grant Heyman’s fifth home run of the season, a one-out solo shot in the top of the ninth, that ultimately made the difference on Saturday night. Heyman, who went 2-for-4, and 1B Reynaldo Rodriguez each homered in the game for the Goldeyes. 3B Josh Mazzola and SS Andrew Sohn both went 2-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored.
For Chicago, 2B Edwin Arroyo went 2-for-4 and DH Matt Dean went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. 3B Trey Vavra added a solo home run, his third of the year.
Gary SouthShore 2, Fargo-Moorhead 0 – Box Score
The Gary SouthShore RailCats rode a stellar performance from starting pitcher Alex Gunn to a 2-0 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
Gunn threw a complete game shutout for the RailCats, improving to 2-1 on the season in the process. He needed just 93 pitches to finish the game, 71 of which went for strikes. Along the way, he gave up seven hits, struck out seven batters and did not issue a walk. Offensively, the RailCats backed him up with a pair of runs in the eighth inning. LF Reggie Wilson scored on a sac fly from Cole Fabio and Andy DeJesus scored when 1B Alex Crosby (2-for-4) singled in the next at-bat.
For the RedHawks, 2B Maikol Gonzalez and SS Leobaldo Pina each recorded a pair of hits.
Lincoln 10, Sioux Falls 1 – Box Score
The Lincoln Saltdogs plated five runs in the first inning and strolled to a 10-1 win against the Sioux Falls Canaries on Saturday evening at Sioux Falls Stadium
The Saltdogs racked up 16 hits from eight different batters and seven of them had multi-hit nights. RF Curt Smith and C Dashenko Ricardo led the way as they each had three hits in the game and LF Brandon Jacobs and 1B Nathaniel Maggio provided more fire power as they both had two hits and combined for six RBIs. Jacobs started the game off with a three-run home run in the first inning and he added a solo home run later in the night.
For the Canaries, 2B Tyler Wolfe went 2-for-4 and DH Jabari Henry scored his team’s only run with a solo home run.
