Sioux Falls 12, St. Paul 11 — Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries (4-2) outdueled the St. Paul Saints 12-11 despite being out-hit 20-14 on the night.

The game was tied at 8-8 heading into the top of the eighth inning and the Canaries took the lead with a four-run frame. 1B Alay Lago (3-for-4, 4 RBIs) singled home both SS Andrew Ely and LF Mike Hart (2-for-5) and he eventually scored when C Clint Coulter singled. 3B Damek Tomscha (2-for-5, 4 RBIs) added an RBI in between with a single that scored DH Jabari Henry.

The Saints pulled to within one run with three in the bottom of the frame thanks to a RBI single from 3B Chesny Young (3-for-5, 3 RBIs) and a two-run home run from LF Troy Alexander (2-for-4).

18 of the 19 players that stepped to the plate in the game recorded at least one hit and 11 of them had two or more hits. 

 

Fargo-Moorhead 11, Winnipeg 8 — Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (2-4) used a 9-run fourth inning to handle the Winnipeg Goldeyes (4-2) 11-8 on Thursday at Newman Outdoor Field.

The RedHawks were trailing 3-0 heading into the fourth where they promptly sent 13 batters to the plate, recorded eight hits and plated nine runs. The frame was highlighted by a three-run double from SS Cito Culver (2-for-5) and a three-run home run by 3B Leobaldo Pina (3-for-5). 2B Christian Ibarra, RF Trey Hair (2-for-5) and LF Correlle Prime each also added an RBI.

The Goldeyes worked their way back into the game with a more steady approach but two more runs from the RedHawks in the top of the seventh — back to back RBI base hits from Hair and Prime — put the game out of reach. 

For the Goldeyes, SS Darnell Sweeney went 3-for-5 with an RBi and 1B Jordan George went 2-for-4 and recorded his second home run of the year.  

 

Milwaukee 4, Chicago 1 — Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen improved to 4-1 on the season with a 4-1 win against the Chicago Dogs (1-4) Thursday night at Impact Field.

The Milkmen took the early lead with a solo shot from DH Adam Walker (2-for-4) in the top of the second inning. SS Mason Davis (2-for-4) doubled the lead in the sixth when he scored thanks to an error from the catcher. Davis doubled the lead again in the eighth with a single that plated 3B Dylan Tice and CF Brett Vertigan.

The Dogs threatened in the ninth as 1B K.C. Hobson lifted a sac fly that plated 2B Edwin Arroyo and then loaded up the bases with two outs. Reliever Myles Smith struck out RF Tony Rosselli to end the threat and seal the win.
