St. Paul 11, Milwaukee 8 — Box Score
The St. Paul Saints (7-7) used an early cushion and a seven-run outburst in the sixth to top the Milwaukee Milkmen 11-8.
SS Nate Samson started the action in the first as he doubled home 2B Mikey Reynolds (2-for-4) and then scored on a sac fly from C Chris Chinea (2-for-4). In the second, LF Troy Alexander (2-for-4) singled home RF Max Murphy and CF Justin Byrd scored when Reynolds reached on a fielder’s choice. But the real fireworks came in the sixth; Alexander hit a three-run homer, 1B John Silviano hit a two-run shot, Chinea added an RBI double and 3B Chesny Young added a sac fly.
For the Milkmen, C Chrstian Correa went 2-for-3 with three runs and 1B David Washington went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. 2B Dylan Tice was 0-for-4 but had three RBIs.
Chicago 9, Fargo-Moorhead 2 — Box Score
The Chicago Dogs (4-8) powered past the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 9-2 on Saturday night at Impact Field.
The RedHawks struck first when 2B Trey Hair hit a solo home run in top of the first inning but 2B Edwin Arroyo (2-for-4) scored on an error in the bottom of the frame to tie the score. The Dogs moved in front in the next inning as C Ryan Haug singled home LF Victor Roache (3-for-4) and RF Tony Rosselli and Chicago never trailed again.
The Dogs put a bow on the victory with a three-run shot from DH Joey Terdoslavich (2-for-4) in the eighth.
For the RedHawks, DH Dario Pizzano went 3-for-3 with an RBI and 1B Drew Ward went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Winnipeg 3, Sioux Falls 2 (8 Innings) — Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldeyes walked off on the Sioux Falls Canaries 3-2 in eight innings in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader.
The two teams were rained out on Friday night and rescheduled for two 7-inning games on Saturday but the opening contest needed an extra frame to decide a winner. The Canaries scored first in the top of the first when 1B Alay Lago (2-for-4) singled home DH Jabari Henry and they doubled that lead in the second when CF Logan Landon lifted a sac fly to plate RF Clint Coulter (2-for-3).
The Goldeyes found the board in the fourth when 3B Eric Wood (2-for-4) singled home 1B Kyle Martin and tied the score in the sixth after DH Roy Morales (2-for-3) singled to score C John Nester.
After a scoreless seventh, Wood hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the eighth and scored the winning run as 2B Kevin Lachance lifted a sac fly to right.the
Sioux Falls 13, Winnipeg 7 — Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries (9-4) bounced bank in the second game of their twinbill with Winnipeg Goldeyes to claim a 13-7 win.
The Canaries got things going right away as they plated five runs in the first inning to take a commanding lead. 1B Alay Lago (2-for-4) and C Clint Coulter (2-for-5) each had RBI base hits and then scored on sac flies from LF Mike Hart (2-for-3) and RF Logan Landon (2-for-3), respectively. Hart scored when 2B Ryan Brett singled later in the inning.
Sioux Falls added seven more runs in third including a home run and an RBI single from Hart and a pair of two-RBI singles from DH Jabari Henry (2-for-4) and 3B Damek Tomscha (4-for-5).
For the Goldeyes, 1B Logan Hill went 3-for-3 with three RBIs including his second homer of the year.
