Wichita 6, Kansas City 1– Box
The Wichita Wingnuts scored four of their six runs in the first inning as they took a matinee from the host Kansas City T-Bones.
With two outs and two on, the Wingnuts strung together three consecutive hits. C J.T. Wise doubled for an RBI, followed by a two-RBI single from 3B Chris McClendon and an RBI single from 1B Colt Loehrs. In the fourth, RF David Amberson scored on a wild pitch, and CF Carlo Testa hit an RBI groundout to score LF Taylor Oldham.
Loehrs, McClendon and 2B Jake Kahaulelio (pictured) all collected two hits each for the Wingnuts. McClendon’s two RBIs led the way for Wichita. 3B T.J. Mittelstaedt and CF Robby Kuzdale had two hits each for Kansas City.
RHP Jon Link allowed only one run over six innings to earn the win for the Wingnuts.
