Cleburne 4, Texas 1 – Box
It took until the fourth inning to get the first run of the night when the AirHogs took a 1-0 lead on a solo shot by 1B Levi Scott his first long ball of the season. The Railroaders got two back in the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead. LF Devin Ahart knocked in the first run of the inning on a RBI triple. Two batters later, 1B Geraldo Valentin knocked him in with a RBI single. The Railroaders added two insurance runs in the eighth, scoring a run on a wild pitch and then adding a sacrifice fly, en route to a 4-1 victory. Valentin finished 1-3 in the win, knocking in two runs. RHP Patrick Mincey earned the win, going six innings, allowing a run on two hits and striking out four. RHP Winston Abreu earned a save for the second straight night, pitching a scoreless ninth.
Sioux Falls 14, Kansas City 4 – Box
The Canaries wasted no time on Sunday, breaking out for a three-run first inning en route to a 14-4 victory over the T-Bones. SS Blake Schmit started the scoring, knocking in two runs on a single. One batter later, the T-Bones committed an error, allowing Schmit to score to make it 3-0. The Canaries scored four more runs in the third inning, giving them a dominating 7-0 lead. The T-Bones cut into the deficit in the fourth, scoring three runs, but the Canaries added six more in the sixth as they went on to win 14-4. 1B Chris Jacobs had a huge night in the win, hitting two home runs and knocking in four RBIs. DH Kevin Keyes hit his sixth home run in the loss. LHP Joe Bircher earned the win, pitching six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out six in his second victory of the year.
Gary 8, Sioux City 1 – Box
The RailCats did all of their damage in the first four innings, as they beat the Explorers 8-1 on Sunday. RF Colin Willis had a huge day, hitting a three-run homer in the first inning. He added another hit on the day, finishing with two runs scored and three RBIs. 1B Randy Santiesteban also had a big day in the win, getting two hits, scoring a run and knocking in three. CF Chase Harris was 2-5 with two runs scored. RHP Charle Rosario threw a gem, going eight innings, striking out six and only allowing one run for his second win of the year.
