Gary SouthShore RailCats 6, Sioux City Explorers 5 – Box Score
A 15-inning marathon ends in a walk-off single by Alec Olund, giving the Gary SouthShore RailCats a 6-5 victory over Sioux City Saturday.
Olund went 3-for-8 on the day, but came away with the biggest hit of the night, a one-run single in the bottom of the 15th.
Hayden Schilling, Michael Woodworth and Tommy McCarthy recorded RBI each for the RailCats (12-12).
Jose Sermo picked up a hit and two RBI. L.T. Tolbert, Jared Walker and Sebastian Zawada recorded one RBI each for (14-9).
David Griffin pitched six innings for the RailCats. Cas Silber picked up the win.
Danny Hrbek recorded the loss.
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 2, Cleburne Railroaders 1 – Box Score
The American Association had a second walk-off victory of the night, this time with Fargo-Moorhead taking a 2-1 win over Cleburne in 10 innings.
Alex Bowman recorded a walk-off one-run single in the 10th inning for Fargo-Moorhead (15-9).
Jordan George recorded the other RBI for the RedHawks. Will Zimmerman scored the winning run.
Ramon Hernandez drove in Hunter Chanin to give Cleburne (11-12) its lone run of the game.
Alex DuBord picked up the win for the RedHawks.
Bryan Saucedo gave up the winning run and took the loss for the Railroaders.
Kansas City Monarchs 7, Houston Apollos 2 – Box Score
The Kansas City Monarchs got a big boost at the plate from DH Gabriel Guerrero to give the Monarchs a 7-2 Saturday.
Guerrero went 1-for-2 with a home run and five RBI to lead the Monarchs.
IF Brian Dansereau and IF Alvaro Gonzalez each recorded solo home runs for the Apollos.
SP Nick Travieso recorded six strikeouts over six innings in the win, his first of the season.
Matt Cronin gave up four runs to record the loss for Houston.
Kansas City Monarchs 8, Houston Apollos 4 – Box Score
The Monarchs were able to pick a doubleheader sweep with an 8-4 victory over Houston in game two Saturday.
IF Ryan Grotjohn went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Monarchs (11-10). C Alexis Olmeda went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Four players drove in one run each for Houston (4-19). Brian Dansereau, Alvaro Gonzalez, Blake Berry and Daniel Aldrich recorded one RBI each.
Jameson McGrane struck out eight over three innings for Kansas City. Cody Mincey picked up the win.
Yosmel Naranjo went the distance for Houston, giving up eight runs over six innings.
Lincoln Saltdogs 4, Kane County Cougars 3 – Box Score
An eighth inning run was the difference for Lincoln in a 4-3 victory over Kane County Saturday.
Ryan Long drove in two runs on two hits for Lincoln (12-10). David Vidal and Edgar Corcino drove in a run each, but neither recorded a hit.
Jeffrey Baez recorded one hit and two RBI for Kane County (9-13). Luis Roman picked up a pair of hits and one RBI.
Kyle Kinman struck out seven over five innings. Greg Minier earned the win and Logan Lombana the save.
Christian DeLeon gave up the winning run, taking the loss.
Milwaukee Milkmen 5, Chicago Dogs 0 – Box Score
Five pitchers combined for a shutout for the Milkmen in a 5-0 win over Chicago.
Myles Smith pitched five innings, striking out five. David Washington recorded two RBI for the Milkmen (14-9).
Ryan Lidge and Anfernee Grier recorded two hits each for Chicago (15-10). Garrett Christman took the loss for the Dogs.
Sioux Falls Canaries 11, Winnipeg Goldeyes 4 – Box Score
A six-run third inning for the Sioux Falls Canaries lifted them to an 11-4 victory over Winnipeg Saturday.
Jabari Henry went 1-for-3 with three RBI for the Canaries (12-11). Nick Gotta drove in two more runs and Charlie Valerio a solo home run.
Max Murphy recorded a two-run homer to lead the Goldeye (8-13) offense. Kyle Martin and Wes Darvill drove in one run each.
Ty Culbreth struck out five batters over six innings in the win for Sioux Falls. Christian James recorded the loss for Winnipeg.
