Sioux Falls Canaries 3, Winnipeg Goldeyes 1 – Box Score
A low scoring marathon was taken by the Canaries, as Sioux Falls topped Winnipeg 3-1 Sunday.
Charlie Valerio, Jordan Ebert and Shamoy Christopher each drove in a run for Sioux Falls (13-11). Christopher picked up three hits and Valerio two.
Logan Hill drove in the lone run for the Goldeyes (8-14). Max Murphy went 3-for-4 and Raul Navarro two hits.
Tyler Garkow struck out eight batters over five and a third innings in a no decision. Grady Wood earned the win.
Joey Gonzalez struck out six over six and a third for the Goldeyes. Kyle Thomas took the loss.
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 6, Cleburne Railroaders 3 – Box Score
Fargo-Moorhead picked up a 6-3 win over Cleburne Sunday afternoon.
It was a balanced attack for the RedHawks (16-9). Leobaldo Pina, Correlle Prime, Jordan George, Will Zimmerman and Sam Dexter drove in one run each. Manuel Boscan and Prime picked up two hits for Fargo-Moorhead.
Noah Vaughan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Cleburne (11-13). Colton Pogue and Ramon Hernandez each recorded one hit and one RBI.
Bret Helton picked up the win, striking out five over five innings. Blake Rogers picked up the save, pitching one inning. Garrett Alexander took the loss, allowing four runs over four innings.
Chicago Dogs 11, Milwaukee Milkmen 5 – Box Score
The duo of Johnny Adams and Anfernee Grier drove in six total runs to lead Chicago to an 11-5 win over Milwaukee Sunday.
Grier went 2-for-5 with three RBI for Chicago (14-10). Adams picked up one hit, but drove in three more runs. Cosimo Cannalla went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Adam Brett Walker II picked up one hit and four RBI for the Milkmen (14-10). Logan Trowbridge went 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
Michael Bowden pitched five innings, giving up one run in picking up the win. Ryan Zimmerman took the loss, giving up eight runs over four and a third innings.
Gary SouthShore RailCats 4, Sioux City Explorers 2 – Box Score
A three run blast by Tyler Van Marter was the difference in a 4-2 win for the Gary SouthShore RailCats Sunday.
Van Marter’s three run home run was a part of a four-run second inning for Gary SouthShore (13-12). The other run came in off the bat of Nikola Vasic in the second.
Jose Sermo went 4-for-4 with one RBI for Sioux City (14-10). Sermo recorded a triple and a solo home run.
Adam Heidenfelder struck out seven batters over six innings in the win. Cole Cook earned the two inning save.
Brett Adcock took the loss for Sioux City, giving up four runs over six and a third.
Kansas City Monarchs 11, Houston Apollos 5 – Box Score
The Kansas City offense came alive, tallying 11 runs in an 11-5 win over Houston Sunday afternoon.
Colin Willis tallied four hits and scored twice for Kansas City (12-10). Gabriel Guerrero picked up three hits and three RBI. Darnell Sweeney added two hits and three RBI. Ryan Grotjohn picked up two hits, two runs and two RBI.
Yeiler Peguero recorded three hits and three RBI, including a home run, for Houston (4-20). Daniel Aldrich added a home run and two RBI.
The winning pitcher was Jake Matthys, working six innings. Alex Merithew took the loss for Houston.
Kane County Cougars 8, Lincoln Saltdogs 2 – Box Score
Kane County recorded four home runs to defeat Lincoln 8-2 Sunday afternoon.
Luis Roman, Kacy Clemens, Gavin LaValley and Cody Young each hit home runs for the Kane County Cougars (10-13).
Patrick Adams recorded the lone run RBI for the Lincoln Saltdogs (12-11). Ryan Long and Skyler Weber picked up the lone two hits.
Andrew Stout earned the win for Kane County in relief. Mark Seyler earned the save, working three innings. Jake Hohensee took the loss for Lincoln.
