THOMAS LEADS LEAGUE AND AIRHOGS; EARNS PLAYER OF THE MONTH

MOORHEAD, MN.- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Texas AirHogs’ OF Dillon Thomas has been named the league’s Rawlings Player of the Month for the month of July.

Thomas, who is first in the league in slugging (.622), OPS (1.060), and doubles (32), has been a leader for the AirHogs this season. The Houston, Texas native is also fifth in the league in batting average (.340), tied for eighth in home runs (11), tied for tenth in RBIs (45) and  tied for seventh in runs (51) all while playing for the team that has scored the least runs in the American Association.

The left-handed slugger entered the month with a sultry .311/.433/.625 slash line, but took his game to the next level over the past 31 days. Since the start of July, Thomas has hit 14 doubles and five home runs while driving in 19 and putting together a .377/.445/.651 slash line.

The Westbury Christian High School alum began his professional career in 2011 after being drafted in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. Thomas spent seven seasons in the Rockies’ organization, batting .259 with 24 HRs and 202 RBIs in 501 games, reaching as high as triple-A in 2017. This season is Thomas’ first in independent ball.
