Kansas City 6, Fargo-Moorhead 5 (11 Innings) — Box Score

C Leonardo Rojas doubled home SS Jerome Pena in the top half of the 11th inning for the eventual game-winning run as the Kansas City T-Bones edged the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 6-5.

The RedHawks threatened in the bottom of the 11th as DH Chris Grayson hit a one-out triple but he was stranded there after a walk, a pop-out to the second baseman and a strikeout ended the game. The game was tied at five after nine innings thanks to four other RBI from Rojas. Three of those RBI came in the top of the sixth when he doubled to clear the bases. Rojas also singled home 1B Kyle Petty in the second inning, four batters after LF Tyler Horan hit a solo home run.

For the RedHawks, C Charlie Valerio and SS Yhoxian Medina each had a pair of hits.

 

Gary SouthShore 5, Wichita 3 — Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats built an early lead and then held off a late push from the Wichita Wingnuts to walk away with a 5-3 win.

The RailCats scored the first run of the night in the top of the third when LF Reggie Wilson reached on an error allowing DH Cameron Newell to score. Newell doubled home CF Chris Harris in the fifth and both 1B Kris Goodman and 2B Andy DeJesus doubled home runs in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead. In the eighth, DH Brent Clevlen scored when RF Richard Prigatano grounded out and 1B Matt Chavez scored in the next at-bat after a single from LF Brennan Salgado.

In the ninth, 3B T.J. Mittelstaedt singled home 2B Christian Stringer to cut the lead down to two runs but reliever Drasen Johnson struck out the next batter to seal the win and earn the save.

 

Sioux Falls 4, St. Paul 1  — Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries pulled away from the St. Paul Saints in the eighth and ninth innings to take a 4-1 win.

The game was tied at 1-1 heading into the top of the eighth inning before LF Ty Morrison singled home 2B Brett Marr to move Sioux Falls in front. In the next at-bat, RF Jabari Henry scored as 1B Chris Jacobs bounced into a double play. In the ninth, CF Dan Motl reached base on a fielder’s choice that allowed 3B Trey Vavra to score. St. Paul’s lone run of the game came in the third inning when 1B Mitch Delfino singled home C Jack Goihl.

For the game, DH Burt Reynolds went 2-for-3 while Morrison and Vavra each went 2-for-4. For the Saints, Goihl went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Delfino and 3B Nate Hanson went 2-for-4.

 

Texas 5, Cleburne 1  — Box Score

The Texas AirHogs held the Cleburne Railroaders to just three hits as they earned a 5-1 win.

Starting pitcher Tyler Bremer (4-4) picked up the win for working for tossing 7.2 innings and allowing one earned run – a solo home run from 3B/C Hunter Courson – and striking out two batters. Reliever Jacob Morris finished things off with a four-out save without allowing a hit. Offensively for the AirHogs, 2B Alvaro Rondon went 4-for-5 with two RBI and SS Beamer Weems went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

DH Brian Ragira added an RBI with a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning.

 

Lincoln 8, Salina 2  — Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs worked their way out of an early hole and rallied for an 8-2 win against the Salina Stockade.

Lincoln fell behind 2-0 but tied the score in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-run, inside-the-park home run from CF Joe Robbins. The Saltdogs took the lead in the next inning when RF Randolph Oduber doubled home DH Curt Smith and Robbins tripled to plate Oduber. Robbins and Oduber each went 2-for-4 on the day. 3B Christian Ibarra closed out the game with three RBI in the eighth inning.

For Salina, RF Jimmy Heck had a team-high two hits, going 2-for-2 with an RBI before leaving the game with an injury.

 

Winnipeg 16, Sioux City 2 – Final/5 Innings (rain)  — Box Score

The game between the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Sioux City Explorers was shortened to five innings due to rain but that proved to be plenty of time for the Winnipeg bats as they exploded for a 16-2 win.

Winnipeg put up eight runs in the first inning and then did the same again in the second to take a commanding lead. All nine Goldeyes scored in the game and seven of them scored twice. Eight of the Winnipeg batters recorded at least one hit in the game as well. RF David Rohm went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI and 1B Shawn Pleffner went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI as well.

The Explorers had just three hits in the game and one of them was a solo home run from LF Jayce Ray.
