Sioux Falls 6, St. Paul 3- Box
RF Burt Reynolds hit a two-RBI double in the top of the ninth, and the Canaries added two more insurance runs to hold off St. Paul 6-3 at CHS Field on Wednesday afternoon. After Reynolds broke a 2-2 tie, SS Blake Schmit and C Aaron Gretz hit RBI singles before the inning was over. Reynolds, Schmit and LF Trey Vavra each had two hits on the afternoon for the Canaries.
RHP Andrew Woeck picked up the win in relief, striking out two. Despite striking out eight over seven innings, LHP Joe Bircher took a no-decision for Sioux Falls.
St. Paul DH Brady Shoemaker was 2-for-4 in the loss.
