Kansas City 3, Sioux City 1 – Box Score

Third baseman Mason Davis launched a huge three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Kansas City a 3-1 lead and they would go on to win by that same score over Sioux City. With the victory by the T-Bones and the losses by the Explorers and Cleburne, the three teams are now tied for the lead in the South Division with three games to go in the regular season.

Kansas City starting pitcher Dylan Baker threw 7 2/3 solid innings and earned his fourth win of the season. Baker gave up an unearned run on six hits and struck out six batters in a 96-pitch effort.

Offensively for the T-Bones, Davis had a 1-for-3 night with three RBIs while 2B Dylan Tice added a base hit and a run scored. First baseman Daniel Nava and LF Casey Gillaspie also helped the Kansas City offense by contributing a hit in three at-bats.

Center fielder Kyle Wren had a 2-for-3 night with a run scored in the loss for Sioux City.

 

St. Paul 4, Fargo-Moorhead 3 – Box Score

St. Paul finished off the three-game sweep of Fargo-Moorhead as they edged past the RedHawks by a score of 4-3. With the victory, the Saints have now won six out of their last seven games and take a one game lead in the North Division with three to play.

Saints pitcher Mike Devine tossed 2 1/3 innings of relief and grabbed his fourth win. Devine gave up an unearned run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts. St. Paul reliever Karch Kowalczyk threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings and picked-up his second save.

Offensively for St. Paul, C Jeremy Martinez led all hitters going 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks. Saints 3B Chesny Young and SS Chris Baker each had a hit in three at-bats along with a run scored while DH Brady Shoemaker and 2B Josh Allen each collected an RBI. The Saints scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning.

First baseman Correlle Prime added his 18th home run of the season for Fargo-Moorhead.

 

Lincoln 6, Cleburne 5 – Box Score

Lincoln scored six runs over their final three trips to the plate to rally from a 4-0 deficit and beat Cleburne by a 6-5 score.

Left fielder Nick Schulz led the way offensively for the Saltdogs going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Lincoln 3B Josh Mazzola had a two-hit game and a run scored while C Daniel Herrera added a double and two RBIs. Designated hitter Randolph Oduber also launched a solo home run for the Saltdogs.

Lincoln pitcher Austin Boyle threw an inning of scoreless relief and claimed the victory. The righty struck out one in the three batters he faced. With the win, Boyle is now 4-2 on the year.

For Cleburne, 1B Logan Trowbridge had a 1-for-3 outing with a pair of runs scored.

 

Winnipeg 5, Sioux Falls 4 – Box Score

Winnipeg continued to play solid baseball as they won their sixth straight game in a 5-4 decision over Sioux Falls.

The Goldeyes pounded out 14 hits in the contest with five batters having multi-hit games. Winnipeg 1B Kyle Martin led the way going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Goldeyes DH Willy Garcia launched a home run and drove in two in a 2-for-4 night while SS Wes Darvill and 3B Dominic Ficociello each contributed three hits.

Winnipeg pitcher Tyler Garkow tossed a scoreless inning of relief and notched his fourth win of the season. Garkow struck out one in the three batters he faced.

For Sioux Falls in the losing effort, LF Mike Hart had a perfect 3-for-3 night with a home run and two RBIs.

 

Chicago 5, Milwaukee 3 – Box Score

Chicago won their fourth straight contest as they defeated Milwaukee by a final of 5-3. The Dogs had a 3-0 lead through five innings of play and would never look back en route to the big victory.

There were nine hits collected by Chicago tonight with RF Victor Roache leading the way going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Dogs DH Keon Barnum walked twice and scored once in a 1-for-3 night while 2B Edwin Arroyo added a pair of hits and a run.

Chicago starting pitcher Jake Dahlberg allowed an earned run over six innings of work and notched the win. The southpaw gave up three hits and three walks to go along with six strikeouts in 94 pitches. Dahlberg improved his record to 9-6 on the year with the victory.

Left fielder Riley Pittman had a three-hit game in the loss for the Milkmen.
