SHOEMAKER EARNS SAINTS SECOND STRAIGHT PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that St. Paul Saints’ INF Brady Shoemaker has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 30, 2019.

Shoemaker earned the award after hitting .476 with one double, two home runs, and six RBIs over the past seven days. The 32-year-old’s best performance of the week came in a 6-3 loss to the Texas AirHogs on June 25. In the game, Shoemaker went 3-for-3 at the dish with one home run, three RBIs and one walk.

The Indiana native began his professional career in 2009 after being drafted in the 19th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. In total, Shoemaker played six season of affiliated ball, splitting time between the White Sox and the Miami Marlins’ organizations. During that time, the right-handed slugger reached the triple-A level on three different occasions. Shoemaker is in his third season with the Saints and is currently hitting .303 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs on the season.
