Chicago 5, Winnipeg 2-Box Score

The Dogs took a 1-0 lead on a solo home run by 3B Jordan Dean in the bottom of the first. The Goldeyes tied the game at 1-1 on a sac fly by C Cody Young in the top of the second.

Chicago regained the lead on a solo home run by RF Victor Roache in the bottom of the third. In the bottom of the fourth, the Dogs pushed the lead to 4-1 with a two-run inning that included an RBI single by CF David Olmedo-Barrera.

Chicago would add an insurance run in the sixth to before Winnipeg scored on a fielder’s choice in the top of the eighth to bring the game to its final score.

RHP Carlos Zambrano threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

 

Lincoln 3, Sioux City 0-Box Score

The Saltdogs shutout the Sioux City Explorers on Sunday.

SP Nick Tepesch threw a complete game shutout, allowing just seven hits while walking two and striking out six.

Tyler Moore gave Lincoln a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the bottom of the second.

The lead grew to 3-0 on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the fifth.

 

Cleburne 12, Texas 6-Box Score

Nick Rotola hit an RBI single in the top of the second to give the Railroaders a 1-0 lead. One inning later, Zach Nehrir added an RBI single of his own to make it 2-0.

The AirHogs cut the lead to 2-1 on a RBI single by 3B Luo Jinjun in the bottom of the fourth.

Cleburne answered with an RBI double by Nehrir in the top of the fifth to make it 3-1 and scored one in the sixth on fielder’s choice to make it 4-1.

Texas made it a 4-2 game on an RBI single by Javion Randle in the bottom of the sixth.

The Railroaders would take control with an eight run top of the seventh that included a three hits and one error.

 

Kansas City 4, Gary SouthShore 2-Box Score

RF Colin Willis gave the RailCats a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.

The T-Bones tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single by Ramsey Romano in the top of the seventh and would go on to add three more in the frame with two coming on a two-run single by Daniel Nava.

Gary SouthShore scored on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh to make it 4-2, but the scoring ended there.

SP Tommy Collier gave up just one run in six innings of work to earn the win.

RHP Carlos Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
