SEVENTH INNING RALLY LIFTS T-BONES PAST EXPLORERS

Kansas City 6, Sioux City 4 – Box

The Kansas City T-Bones scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and beat Sioux City by the score of 6-4. Kansas City tallied four runs in the first to take a 4-0 lead but could not hold it as the Explorers tallied single runs in the second and sixth innings to cut the deficit in half and then tied it in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run by SS Nate Samson.

T-Bones DH Kevin Keyes went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI while LF Tyler Horan and 1B Kyle Petty each had a pair of hits and scored a run. Kansas City pitcher Zach Morgenstern notched the victory in relief and is now 1-0 on the season. For Sioux City in the losing cause, 2B Joe Bennie had a 2-for-4 night with a home run, two runs scored and a RBI.

Fargo-Moorhead 6, St. Paul 1 – Box

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings of play and would go on from there to a 6-1 victory over St. Paul. Fargo-Moorhead received a terrific performance from 1B Trever Adams as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. RedHawks leadoff hitter Chris Grayson chipped in three hits and a RBI while C Charlie Valerio added a double and scored a run. Fargo-Moorhead starting pitcher Tyler Herron tossed eight solid innings en route to his third victory of the season. Herron gave up an earned run on five hits with a pair of walks and seven strikeouts. For St. Paul in the losing effort, 3B Nate Hanson went 1-for-4 with a double and scored the team’s only run of the contest.

Cleburne 4, Lincoln 1 – Box

Cleburne starting pitcher Patrick Mincey threw a solid seven-inning performance in leading the Railroaders to a 4-1 victory over Lincoln. Mincey gave up an earned run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts in an 89-pitch effort. The righty picked up the win and is now 6-2 on the season. Offensively for Cleburne, DH Oscar Mesa led the way going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Railroaders 1B Geraldo Valentin had two hits in four at-bats with a run scored while leadoff hitter Maikol Gonzalez added a double and tallied a run. Cleburne scored single runs in the third and sixth innings and plated a pair in the eighth to seal the win.

Winnipeg 5, Gary SouthShore 0 – Box

Winnipeg starting pitcher Edwin Carl and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Goldeyes beat Gary SouthShore, 5-0. Carl threw the first seven innings giving up two walks and four hits while fanning six batters in a 116-pitch effort. The bullpen trio of Mitchell Lambson, Victor Capellan and Ryan Chaffee tossed the final two innings allowing a hit and two walks while striking out three. Carl notched his second consecutive victory and is now 4-1 on the season. Offensively for the Goldeyes, LF Josh Romanski and 2B Jordan Ebert each had three hits with CF Reggie Abercrombie launching his seventh home run of the year. Winnipeg jumped ahead 3-0 after three innings of play and added two insurance runs in the ninth.
