RAILROADERS WALK OFF ON SALINA IN 11 INNINGS

Cleburne 2, Salina 1 – 11 Innings — Box Score

The Cleburne Railroaders walked off on the Salina Stockade in the bottom of the 11th inning as C Ermindo Escobar singled home PR Dylan Mouzakes for the game-winning run.

The game was tied at 1-1 after nine innings thanks to a sixth inning that saw both teams touch home plate. In the top of the inning, 1B Kewby Meyer lifted a sac fly to center that scored SS Logan Trowbridge while in the bottom of the frame, LF Axel Johnson scored CF KC Huth with a double to tie the score. For the game, six different Railroaders each had one hit.

For Salina, 2B Aaron Olivas and RF Jimmy Heck each had a pair of hits.

 

Kansas City 6, Sioux Falls 5 — Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones pulled in front of the Sioux Falls Canaries with a SS Jerome Pena single in the top of the seventh inning to snag a 6-5 win.

Pena, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game, singled home LF Kyle Petty with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 6-5 lead. The T-Bones put up five runs in the bottom of the first inning but the Canaries battle back and tied the score with a solo home run in the top of the fifth from 1B Chris Jacobs. For the game, 1B Kevin Keyes went 3-for-4 and 2B Marcus Lemon went 2-for-5.

For the Canaries, CF Dan Motl went 2-for-4 and C Michael Falsetti went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

 

Gary SouthShore 2, Fargo-Moorhead 0 — Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats blanked the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks behind a strong effort from the RailCats pitching staff.

Starting pitcher Charle Rosario (6-3) went 7.1 innings in the winning effort after giving up just four hits and striking out five batters. Releiver Drasen Johnson finished things off in the ninth without allowing a hit. The RedHawks recorded just five hits in the game. Offensively for the RailCats, LF Reggie Wilson went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored and 2B John Holland went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

3B Randy Santiesteban had the RailCats’ other RBI. For the RedHawks, CF Devan Ahart and DH Chris Grayson each had a pair of hits.

 

Texas 4, Lincoln 0 — Box Score

The Texas AirHogs shutout the Lincoln Saltdogs with a 4-0 win on Wednesday night.

Starting pitcher Tyler Bremer (3-4) earned the win after throwing six innings and giving up six hits while striking out five batters. Relievers Billy Waltrip and Josh Blanco finished off the last three innings without allowing another hit. Each of the Saltdogs’ six hits came from six different batters.

For the AirHogs, CF Trevor Sealey went 2-for-4 with two RBI and C Michael Miller went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. RF Denis Phipps hit his fourth home run of the year in the second.

 

Sioux City 4, St. Paul 1 — Box Score

All the action went down in the fifth inning as the Sioux City Explorers edged the St. Paul Saints 4-1.

1B Brady Shoemaker gave the Saints a 1-0 lead with a single that scored SS Jon Kristoffersen but in the bottom of the inning the Explorers moved in front. RF Michael Lang doubled to push two runs across and scored with CF Tony Campana when SS Nate Samson singled in the next at-bat. Samson had a team-high two hits.

For the Saints, CF Kes Carter went 4-for-4 and DH Ben Buerkle went 2-for-4.

 

Winnipeg 9, Wichita 5 — Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes turned 18 hits into nine runs as they topped the Wichita Wingnuts 9-5.

All nine Wingnuts recorded at least one hit in the game and six of them had multiple hits in the game. LF Josh Romanski, 1B Shawn Pleffner and 3B Wes Darvill each had three hits and Romanski had a pair of RBI. Three other batters had two-hit games including C Mason Katz who had two RBI. For the Wingnuts, 1B Matt Chavez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.

Starting pitcher Mikey O’Brien (5-2) earned the win after going five innings and allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three batters.
