Texas 8, Salina 7 – Box

The Airhogs topped the Stockade in a high-scoring affair, thanks to a go-ahead run that scored on an error in the eighth inning. The run came after the Stockade tied it in the top of the inning with a RBI triple from CF Roche Woodard and a RBI single from SS Aaron Olivas. LF Caslo Grider collected two hits in the win, picking up a triple and his third home run of the year. 1B Levi Scott also contributed two hits and drove in two runs for the Airhogs. LHP Josh Blanco earned the win, struggling through two innings of two-run ball. RHP Luis De La Cruz struck out the side in the ninth to pick up his ninth save.

Lincoln 3, Cleburne 0 – Box

The Saltdogs rode a solo home run from LF Brandon Jacobs on Friday night as they beat the Railroaders 3-0. Jacobs’ blast came in the second inning, giving the Saltdogs a 1-0 lead. The Saltdogs added insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings on RBI singles from 3B Christian Ibarra and DH Randolph Oduber. The Railroaders failed to score on the night, collecting only five hits as a team in the 3-0 shutout. RHP Brian McAfee won his first game of the year pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out two batters. RHP Michael Wagner struck out two batters in the ninth to earn his ninth save of the year.

St Paul 11, Fargo-Moorhead 7 – Box

The Saints broke a two-game losing streak by scoring six runs in the seventh en route to an 11-7 win. The Redhawks took a 6-2 lead in the third inning before the Saints scored three to cut the deficit to one. Then, they scored six runs in the seventh with the big play coming on a RBI double from 2B Brady Shoemaker. LF Anthony Gallas chipped in with a three-run home run, his 11th long ball of the year. 1B Charlie Valerio finished 1-4 with three RBIs in the loss. RHP Brandon Peterson pitched 1.1 innings in relief to earn his second win of the season.

Wichita 10, Sioux Falls 7 – Box

The Wingnuts continued their torrid pace on Friday, winning their 34th game of the season. The two teams entered the ninth inning tied at seven before the Wingnuts exploded for three runs in the inning. RF Richard Prigatano started the inning with a RBI single. He then scored on a sacrifice fly from SS Leo Vargas. 3B T.J. Mittelstaedt knocked in the final run of the inning with a RBI single as the team went on to win 10-7. 1B Matt Chavez hit one of two home runs for the Wingnuts, blasting his 12th homer of the season in the first inning. DH Jabari Henry homered twice in the loss. RHP Mike Devine and RHP Seth Harvey pitched the last two innings, with Devine picking up his second win and Harvey earning his tenth save of the year.

Winnipeg 4, Gary Southshore 3 (Final – 10 innings) – Box

The Goldeyes outlasted the Railcats in extra innings on Friday night to earn their 26th win of the year. They were led by two solo home runs off the bats of DH David Bergin and 1B Shawn Pleffner. The home runs were their 12th and 3rd of the season respectively. 3B Wes Darvill scored the game-winning run in the tenth on an error. Four pitchers were used by the Goldeyes in the win, with LHP Evan Rutcykj picking up his first win of the year and RHP Ryan Chaffee picking up his 13th save of the campaign. 

Sioux City 5, Kansas City 4 (Final – 11 innings) Box

It took eleven innings, but the Explorers were able to top the T-Bones 5-4, thanks to a go-ahead run scored on a balk by CF Tony Campana. LF Jayce Ray added three hits in the win, hitting his fifth home run of the season. RF Tyler Horan hit his first home run of the year in the loss. RHP PJ Francescon went 3.1 scoreless innings in the win, picking up his second win of the season. Francescon struck out two and allowed three hits in the win. Campana finished 1-3 with two runs scored in the victory.
