SALTDOGS TAKE WIN OVER ST. PAUL

Lincoln 6, St. Paul 5Box 

LF Matt Forgatch (pictured) hit an RBI double in the top of the sixth for the Lincoln Saltdogs to tie the game and came in to score the go-ahead run on an RBI single by 3B Eddie Young. Lincoln scored two more runs in the inning on an RBI single from 1B Chris Anderson and a wild pitch.

The Saltdogs led 6-3 going to the eighth before the Saints scored two runs, but the comeback fell short.

RF Brian Joynt was 3-for-5 for Lincoln with two RBIs and Young was 2-for-4. For St. Paul, 3B Devin Thaut was 3-for-5 with an RBI and RF Brandon Tripp hit a solo home run.

RHP Justin Kuks struck out three in six and 2/3 innings to earn the win. RHP Marshall Schuler struck out two in a perfect ninth for his eighth save.

New Jersey 3, Winnipeg 2 (10 innings)Box

LF Joe Dunigan hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to give the Jackals an interleague win over the Goldeyes. CF Alonzo Harris singled to lead off the 10th, and stole second before going to third on a groundout and scoring on Dunigan’s hit. The game winner was Dunigan’s third hit of the game, yet the only hit that stayed in the ballpark. Both of New Jersey’s earlier runs came on Dunigan solo shots.

For Winnipeg, LF Donnie Webb hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

The win went to the Jackals’ RHP Salvador Sanchez, who struck out one in two scoreless innings of relief.

Rockland 9, Fargo-Moorhead 3Box 

Four Boulders had multi-hit games as Rockland took the second game of an interleague set at the RedHawks. CF Antone DeJesus was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, coming on two RBI singles. LF Joe Maloney, SS Junior Arrojo and RF Ryan Stovall all had two hits apiece for the Boulders. Additionally, 1B Jerod Edmondson was 1-for-4 but picked up three RBIs. Rockland had four-run innings in the third and fifth innings.

LF Sawyer Carroll and C Petey Paramore each homered for Fargo. CF Nic Jackson was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

LHP Greg Terhune struck out two over six innings to earn the win for the Boulders.

Wichita 13, Laredo 7Box

It was an offensive explosion for the Wichita Wingnuts on Wednesday night in Laredo. DH Chris McMurray was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the eighth inning and 3B Chris McClendon hit a three-run home run in the top of the third. SS Ryan Khoury was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and two of his three hits were doubles. LF Carlo Testa and C J.T. Wise also had two hits each.

The Lemurs had 17 hits of their own, with four players collecting three hits each. DH John Alonso was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

RHP Jason Van Skike earned the win in relief for the Wingnuts.
