SALTDOGS OVERCOME EARLY DEFICIT TO BEAT CANARIES

Lincoln 4, Sioux Falls 3 – Box

Lincoln 1B Austin Gallagher scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly by PH Austin Darby in the eighth inning as the Saltdogs rallied past Sioux Falls, 4-3. The Canaries had jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Lincoln came back with a run in the third, two more in the seventh and the eventual winning run in the eighth. Saltdogs leadoff hitter Robby Kuzdale led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Lincoln DH Curt Smith added a double and two RBI while SS Tyler Urps drew a pair of walks and plated a run. Saltdogs pitcher J.R. Bunda threw two scoreless innings to collect the win and improve his mark to 3-0 on the season. With the victory, Lincoln is now tied with Sioux City for the lead in the Central Division.

Joplin at Laredo (Postponed – Rain)

The game between Joplin and Laredo was postponed due to rain. It will be made up in Joplin as part of a doubleheader on Friday, August 26 beginning at 5:00 PM.
