Fargo-Moorhead 7, St. Paul 6 (11 Innings) – Box

Fargo-Moorhead C Charlie Valerio singled home 3B Josh Mazzola with the game winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning as the RedHawks defeated St. Paul, 7-6 to complete the three-game sweep. The Saints had grabbed a 6-5 lead in the top of the ninth thanks to a three-run home run from DH Dan Johnson. However, Fargo-Moorhead would answer as 1B Dustin Geiger hit a solo shot in the bottom of the frame to tie the contest at 6-6 and send the game into extras. Valerio went 2-for-4 on the day with two RBI while RF K.D. Kang added a first inning three-run blast. RedHawks pitcher Brett Zawacki threw two scoreless innings to nab his first win of the year. Zawacki gave up a hit and two walks in the nine batters faced.

Texas 6, Kansas City 1 – Box

The Texas AirHogs rolled out to a 5-0 lead after four innings of play and would cruise from there to a 6-1 win over Kansas City. Texas SS Juan Sanchez led the way offensively going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. AirHogs RF Cody Lenahan had two hits, including a home run, and two runs scored while leadoff hitter Brian Bistagne collected two RBI in a 2-for-5 day.  AirHogs starting pitcher Griffin Russell tossed 6 1/3 solid innings and earned his second win of the season. Russell allowed an earned run on four hits and fanned four batters.

Winnipeg 6, Sioux City 1 – Box

Winnipeg jumped out to a 2-0 lead after an inning of play and would never look back as they defeated Sioux City by the score of 6-1. Goldeyes 2B Casio Grider led the charge offensively as he went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Winnipeg 1B David Rohm and CF Reggie Abercrombie combined for four hits and three runs scored while 3B Wes Darvill had a 1-for-3 game and plated a run. Goldeyes starter Kevin McGovern notched the win and improved his record to 7-3 on the year. McGovern tossed seven shutout innings giving up a hit and two walks with eight strikeouts.

Gary SouthShore 14, Wichita 5 – Box

It was all Gary SouthShore in this one as the RailCats grabbed a 10-1 lead after four innings and rolled to a 14-5 victory over Wichita. Gary SouthShore banged out 16 hits in the contest with seven batters having multi-hit games. RailCats SS Jarred Mederos went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI while 1B Alex Crosby collected three hits, scored three times and drove in four runs. Gary SouthShore starter Richard Castillo evened his record at 6-6 on the season with the win. Castillo gave up two earned runs on six hits in six innings of work.
