SALTDOGS GET 500th HOME WIN IN RAIN SHORTENED GAME AGAINST RAILROADERS

Lincoln 3, Cleburne 2 (F/6)-Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs topped the Cleburne Railroaders 3-2 in a rain shortened game on Thursday to win their 500th game at Haymarket Park.

The Railroaders took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when CF Zach Nehrir scored from third on a wild pitch. The Saltdogs answered with a three-run bottom of the third that included an RBI double by C Tyler Moore and an RBI single by RF Randolph Oduber.

SP Nick Tepesch (2-0) earned the win after giving up two earned on six hits while striking out five and pitching all six innings of the shortened game.

 

Chicago 7, St. Paul 6-Box Score

The Chicago Dogs topped the St. Paul Saints in extras one day after losing on a walk-off walk.

CF Tony Rosselli (3-for-5) hit his third home run of the game, a solo shot to break a 5-5 tie in the top of the tenth. Later in the frame, Larry Balkwill hit an RBI single to deliver the Dogs what proved to be a decisive 7-5 lead.

1B Devon Rodriguez paced the Saints, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Reliever RHP Rich Mascheri was awarded the win. RHP Josh Goosen-Brown earned the save.

 

Gary SouthShore 10, Sioux City 1-Box Score

The Gary SouthShore RailCats offense exploded for double-digit runs in a win over the Sioux City Explorers on Thursday.

RF Colin Willis (2-for-5) led the RailCats with a double and three RBIs. DH John Price Jr. also came through big, delivering a double, a triple, two runs scored and one RBI.

SP Trevor Lubking (2-0) was extremely sharp in his scoreless six-inning start, allowing just three base runners (two hits and one walk) while striking out seven.

The Explorers scored their lone run on an RBI double by 1B Dean Green in the top of the ninth.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 5, Milwaukee 3 (F/7 Game One)-Box Score

Fargo-Moorhead 3, Milwaukee 0 (F/7 Game Two)-Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks swept a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Milkmen on Thursday, winning game one 5-3 and game two 3-0.

The Milkmen took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when C Manuel Boscan hit a two-run home run. The RedHawks responded by scoring all five of their runs in the bottom of the inning. In the frame, 2B Devan Ahart hit an RBI single, 1B Chris Jacobs hit an RBI double, DH T.J. Bennet hit a sac-fly, and 3B Leobaldo Pina hit a two-run home run.

SP Luke Wilkins (1-0) earned the win after giving up three earned in five innings of work, striking out four, allowing three hits, and walking one in the process. RHP Geoff Broussard pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the save.

SP Sebastian Kessay (2-0) (six innings) and RHP Joe Filomeno (one inning) combined to shutout Milwaukee in game two.

2B Devan Ahart hit an RBI double and LF Corelle Prime hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the first to give the RedHawks a 2-0 lead. C Brian Olson successfully executed a sacrifice squeeze in the bottom of the sixth to bring the game to its final score.
