With a strong start from RHP Robert Coe and a three-run sixth, the Saints took a matinee over the Explorers. RF Keith Brachold hit a two-RBI double in the seventh and SS Joey Becker followed with an RBI double of his own.
LF Willie Cabrera was 3-for-3 for the Saints with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Becker and 3B Henry Wrigley had two hits apiece. 3B Amos Ramon had two hits for the Explorers.
Coe tossed six innings and struck out two for the win. RHP Dan Sattler saved his 18th game with a scoreless ninth.
