St. Paul 5, Wichita 0- Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (34-28) allowed just four hits in a 5-0 shutout of the Wichita Wingnuts on Wednesday.

Saints’ starter Eddie Medina (5-3) allowed just three hits while walking two batters and striking out eight in 6.1 innings of work. The bullpen took over and held the Wingnuts scoreless while allowing just two base runners (one hit and one walk).

The Saints scored on an error in the bottom of the first and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. Dante Bichette Jr. (3-for-4) clubbed a solo home run (4) to take a 3-0 lead. Kyle Barrett (1-for-4) hit a solo home run of his own in the fifth and Burt Reynolds (1-for-4) hit one in the eighth (14) to bring the game to its final score.

 

Winnipeg 8, Texas 2- Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Texas AirHogs on Wednesday.

Tyler Baker hit a two-run home run (1) in the bottom of the first. Three batters later, Reggie Abercrombie hit a three-run homer (9) and two batters after that Tucker Nathans hit a solo home run (7) to give the Goldeyes a 6-0 lead they wouldn’t look back from.

Winnipeg’s starter J.C. Sulbaran (1-2) picked up the win after giving up just one earned run in seven innings of work.

 

Chicago 8, Fargo-Moorhead 5- Box Score

The Chicago Dogs (25-38) rallied to defeat the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-5 on Wednesday.

The RedHawks struck first on a Chris Jacobs (2-for-5) RBI double in the top of the first. In the second inning, the lead expanded to 2-0 when Keury De La Cruz (3-for-4) homered in his second consecutive game.

The Dogs took their first lead of the night with a three-run third inning that included a two-run single by Edwin Arroyo (4-for-5) and an RBI single by Rubi Silva (3-for-4). In the next inning, Tony Roselli (2-for-3) hit a solo home run (7) to make it 4-2. Fargo-Moorhead cut the lead to one in the next frame on a bases-loaded single by Yhoxian Medina (2-for-5). The RedHawks reclaimed the lead with RBI doubles by Leobaldo Pina (2-for-5) and Charlie Valerio (1-for-3) in the top of the sixth. Chicago quickly responded with a two-run double by Jonathan Moroney (1-for-4) in the bottom of the seventh before adding two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Dogs’ reliever Chad Girodo (1-0) was awarded the win. Taylor Grover pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn the save (4).

 

Kansas City 7, Lincoln 4- Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones (41-21) held on to defeat the Lincoln Saltdogs (30-31) by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday.

In the bottom of the first, the T-Bones parlayed six hits into five runs with one coming on an RBI triple by Noah Perio Jr. (1-for-3) and two coming on a two-run double Keith Curcio (1-for-4). Colin Walsh (2-for-4) led off the top of the third with a solo home run to make it 6-0. The Saltdogs responded with a two-run home run by Brandon Jacobs (12) in the top of the fourth as well as solo home runs by T.J. Bennett (2) and Ivan Marin (2) in the sixth to cut the deficit to 6-4. Kansas City added a run in the bottom of the seventh to bring the game to its final score.

Barrett Astin (7-3) gave up four earned in six innings of work to pick up the win. Marcus Crescenti pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save (1).

 

Sioux City 6, Cleburne 3- Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers (46-16) scored late to defeat the Cleburne Railroaders (20-42) by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Dexture McCall (1-for-3) broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run single. Two batters later, Dylan Kelly hit a sacrifice fly to make a 6-3 game.

Angel Rosa (10), Chase Simpson (8), and Cameron Monger (9) all hit solo home runs for the Railroaders.

Sioux City’s Patrick Schuster (3-0) was awarded the win. Eric Karch pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save (13).

 

Gary SouthShore 8, Sioux Falls 0- Box Score

Gary SouthShore RailCats (34-27) Daniel Minor silenced the Sioux Falls Canaries (26-37) in an 8-0 win on Wednesday.

Minor (11-2) walked none and gave up just six hits while striking out eight and going the distance.

The RailCats hit five extra-base hits to help Minor’s efforts. Tillman Pugh hit a solo home run (2) in the bottom of the first and Andy Dejesus put together a 2-for-4 three RBI night.
