St. Paul 2, Wichita 1 — Box Score
The St. Paul Saints edged the Wichita Wingnuts 2-1 thanks to a complete-game effort from starting pitcher Dustin Crenshaw.
Crenshaw (2-1) needed just 91 pitches (62 for strikes) to finished off nine innings of work. He allowed just one run – a DH Zac Fisher RBI single in the second inning – on five hits and struck out four batters. The Saints provided all the run support necessary in the fourth inning when 1B Dan Johnson hit a two-run home run. The Saints had just four hits in the game, one each from four different batters including doubles from CF Kes Carter and C Tanner Lubach.
For the Wingnuts, five different batters each had one hit including doubles from C Martin Medina and RF Richard Prigatano.
Texas 6, Salina 5 – 10 Innings — Box Score
The Texas AirHogs erased a 5-3 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning and then walked off on the Salina Stockade 6-5 in the 10th with a bases-loaded hit by pitch.
In the ninth, the Stockade scored in the top of the inning as 3B Jordan Caillouet lifted a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 5-3. In the bottom of the frame, 1B Jake Taylor scored when C Ryan Wagoner reached on an error and in the next at-bat, LF Charley Thurber scored when 3B Ryne Willard grounded out to tie the game. In the 10th, the AirHogs loaded up the bases with singles from DH Levi Scott and Taylor and an intentional walk to SS Beamer Weems. With two outs, Wagoner was hit by a pitch to push in the winning run.
For the game, Scott had a team-high two hits and for the Stockade, four different batters had two hits including Caillouet.
Fargo-Moorhead 9, Winnipeg 3 — Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks built a 9-0 lead in the first seven innings and held on for a 9-3 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
The Goldeyes broke into the scoring column in the top of the ninth inning as DH David Bergin, 3B Wes Darvill and C Tanner DeVinny hit consecutive RBI singles but they couldn’t over the RedHawks’ strong start. Fargo-Moorhead racked up 14 hits in the game from eight different batters and five of those batters had more than one hit. DH Chris Grayson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Both CF Devan Ahart and SS Yhoxian Medina each went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
LF Kheury De La Cruz hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for the RedHawks. For the Goldeyes, Bergin and 1B Shawn Pleffner each had two hits.
Cleburne 6, Kanas City 3 – Rain shortened/6 Innings — Box Score
The Cleburne Railroaders scored in each of the first two innings and then added four more in the fourth to build and early lead and rode it to a 6-3 win in a rain-shortened game against the Kansas City T-Bones.
LF Nick Van Stratten singled in the first run in the top of the first and C Blake Grant-Parks homered in the second to double the lead. In the fourth, SS Alex Polston and 3B Mitch Glasser each singled in runs, Grant-Parks scored when 2B Maikol Gonzalez bounced out and Glasser scored when 1B Geraldo Valentin reached on an error. For the T-Bones, they scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. RF Dexter Kjerstad and LF Kyle Petty each hit RBI base hits and Kjerstad also scored when C Zane Chavez grounded out.
For the game, Kjerstad and DH Chantz Mack each had a pair of hits.
