St. Paul 9, Gary SouthShore 3 – Box

St. Paul scored runs in five of the first six innings of the contest as the Saints cruised to a 9-3 win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. St. Paul hit four home runs in the game, including one by DH Ian Gac. Gac collected two hits, scored two runs and drove in three. Saints 3B Steve Nikorak also launched a home run along with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. St. Paul starter Dustin Crenshaw notched his league tying fifth win of the year in a solid seven inning performance. Crenshaw gave up an earned run on seven hits and fanned four batters. For Gary SouthShore in defeat, 3B Roger Bernal went 3-for-5 and scored a run.

Sioux City 8, Sioux Falls 3 – Box

The Sioux City Explorers scored four runs in the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead and would go on to an 8-3 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries. Sioux City 1B Rene Tosoni led the offense going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Explorers DH Brock Kjeldgaard launched his league leading eighth home runs on the season in a 2-for-5 effort while RF Michael Lang collected two hits and plated two runs. Sioux City starting pitcher Ryan Zimmerman picked up the win as he went seven innings allowing a run, unearned, on two hits. Zimmerman is now 4-1 on the year.
