REDHAWKS TURN TWO TRIPLE PLAYS IN WIN OVER SALTDOGS

Fargo

August 31 Afternoon Recap

Fargo-Moorhead 3, Lincoln 2 – Box

Designated hitter Chris Grayson scored on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift Fargo-Moorhead to a 3-2 victory over Lincoln. The RedHawks defense was the main story in the contest as they turned a league record two triple plays and stopped potential big rallies by the Saltdogs. The first one came in the first inning with the bases loaded and the second one occurred in the fifth with runners on first and second.

Fargo-Moorhead CF Devan Ahart added a two-run home run in the third inning while RF K.D. Kang had a perfect 2-for-2 day and scored a run.

RedHawks pitcher Trey McNutt tossed two innings of relief and notched his fourth victory of the season. McNutt gave up an earned run on two hits and struck out a pair of Lincoln batters.
