REDHAWKS’ HAGENS HEADING BACK TO DIAMONDBACKS ORGANIZATION

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have sold the contract of RHP Bradin Hagens to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, the American Association announced Monday, May 20. Hagens is the 18th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019, and the 38th since the start of the 2018 season.

Hagens joined the RedHawks this offseason after splitting time between the Triple-A and Rookie levels in the Diamondbacks organization in 2018. In his one start with Fargo-Moorhead, the former major leaguer gave up just two earned in seven innings of work while striking out seven, walking four and allowing just three hits.

Hagens began his professional career after being drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 6th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. The 30-year-old spent parts of six season in the Diamondbacks’ organization before making his Major League debut in 2014. Hagens pitched 2.2 innings of relief at the games top level, surrendering one earned run while striking out two and walking three.
