Fargo-Moorhead 10, Winnipeg 1 – Box

The Redhawks closed out the Goldeyes 10-1 on Sunday. Home runs from three players powered the Redhawks to the victory. 2B Brandon Tierney blasted the first home run of the game in the seventh inning to give the Redhawks a 5-1 edge. Then, 3B Josh Mazzola and C Charlie Valerio put the exclamation point on the win with back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning. Mazzola led all players as he scored twice, drove in two runs and cranked his 15th home run of the season. Tierney produced three hits and scored twice. RHP Tyler Herron was equally outstanding, going the distance in the victory. Herron (9-3) allowed a run on five hits and struck out nine batters. 

Wichita 11, Salina 2 – Box

Up 2-1 entering the sixth inning, the Wingnuts exploded for nine runs to take an 11-1 advantage in the eventual 11-2 win. SS Leo Vargas and 1B Brent Clevlen each knocked in two runs in the nine-run inning. Vargas was 1-4 with a run scored and two runs knocked in. Clevlen scored twice, collected two hits and knocked in a team-high three runs. RHP Tim Brown was very solid for the Wingnuts as he posted seven two-run innings. Brown (4-5) allowed two runs on nine hits and struck out two batters.
