PALMEIRO POWERS CLEBURNE PAST CHICAGO

Cleburne 5, Chicago 4- Box Score
The Cleburne Railroders (17-27) held on to defeat the Chicago Dogs (16-29) 5-4 on Friday.

Rafael Palmairo led the Railroaders, going 3-for-3 with two home runs (5), five RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk.

The 53 year old’s two run home run in the top of the second gave Cleburne a 2-0 lead. Chicago tied it in the bottom of the inning with one run coming on a solo home run by Tony Roselli (5). Palmeiro hit another two-run home run in the top of the fourth to reclaim the lead before adding an RBI single in the top of the eighth to make it a 5-2 game.

Chicago pushed in the bottom of the ninth, scoring two on Railroaders’ closer Shawn Blackwell, but Blackwell was able to end the game with the lead intact.

Michael Gunn (2-1) earned the win after giving up just two unearned runs in seven innings of seven strikeout work.

Sioux Falls 1, Gary SouthShore 0- Box Score
Sioux Falls Canaries’ (18-26) ace Cesilio Pimentel turned in another gem in a 1-0 win over the Gary SouthShore Railcats (23-22) on Friday.

Pimentel improved his already league leading ERA, dropping it to 1.36 after pitching eight scoreless innings against the Railcats.

The Canaries scored their run in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single by Jordan Dean.

Kyle Schepel pitched a scoreless ninth to complete the shutout and earn the save (3).

Kansas City 6, Texas 2- Box Score
The Kansas City T-Bones bested the Texas AirHogs by a score of 6-2 on Friday.

The T-Bones took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth on a RBI single by Todd Cunningham. The lead grew to 6-0 with a five-run top of the sixth that included a bases clearing triple by Zach Walters.

The AirHogs scored on a passed ball and another on an RBI single by Dillon Thomas in the bottom of the frame to bring the game to its final score.

Hunter Adkins (2-2) was awarded the win after pitching six shutout innings.

Lincoln 7, St. Paul 6- Box Score
The Lincoln Saltdogs edged the St. Paul Saints 7-6 on Friday.

The game was tied 4-4 heading into the top of the eighth. Randolph Oduber broke the tie with a three-run double.

The Saints scored two on back-to-back errors by Lincoln in the bottom of the ninth, but the scoring ended there and Jose Jose was awarded the save (5).

Justin O’Conner hit a solo home run (9) for St. Paul in the bottom of the second.
Derek Gordon (4-0) was awarded the win after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Sioux City 4, Wichita 2- Box Score
The Sioux City Explorers did all of their damage in the game’s first three innings to defeat the Wichita Wingnuts 4-2 on Friday.

The Explorers struck first with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jay Asustin in the bottom of the first. Sioux City pushed the lead to 3-0 in the next inning when Dylan Kelly hit an RBI single and Dexture McCall hit a sacrifice fly. Both teams scored one in the third and Wichita scored one in the fourth to bring the game to its final score.

Ryan Flores was awarded the win after pitching three scoreless innings of relief.
Eric Karch pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save (7).

Fargo-Moorhead 9, Winnipeg 1- Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (23-22) used two big innings to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes (21-26) 9-1 on Friday.

The Goldeyes scored their only run on RedHawks’ starter Sebastian Kessay (3-2) in the game’s first at-bat, a solo home run by Tucker Nathans (4). Kessay settled down and gave up just four hits and two walks in seven innings of work.

The RedHawks tied the game on Yhoxian Medina RBI single in the bottom of the third. Medina scored in the next at-bat when Tim Colwell hit an RBI triple. The scoring in the third was capped off by a three-run home run by Leobaldo Pina (3) to make it a 5-1 game.

Fargo Moorhead scored four more in the bottom of the sixth to bring the game to its final score.
