MILKMEN’S EWING HAS CONTRACT SOLD TO MILWAUKEE BREWERS

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Milwaukee Milkmen have sold the contract of C Skyler Ewing to the Milwaukee Brewers organization, the American Association announced. Ewing is the seventh American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019, and the 27th since the start of the 2018 season.

Ewing was traded to Milwaukee this fall after an All-Star season with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League. He batted .300 with 11 doubles, 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and 43 runs scored in 61 games. Ewing threw out 33 percent of would-be base-stealers (16-for-48) in 48 games behind the plate.

Ewing began his professional career in 2014 after being selected by the San Francisco Giants in the sixth round of that year’s draft our of Rice University (Texas). He spent four seasons in the Giants chain before signing with the Miami Marlins organization prior to the 2018 season. Ewing signed with Florence in June of last summer.
