MILKMEN WALK OFF ON DOGS IN 10; TAKE FIRST PLACE

Milwaukee 4, Chicago 3 (10 Innings) – Box Score

With a walk-off, 10-inning, 4-3 win against the Chicago Dogs, the Milwaukee Milkmen took first place in the 2020 American Association standings.

Milwaukee scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning when 1B David Washington (2-for-5) singled home 3B Logan Trowbridge. In the next inning, SS Mason Davis doubled to score DH Jose Sermo to take a 2-0 lead. The Dogs scored three runs in the sixth to take the lead as 1B K.C. Hobson singled to allow both CF Michael Crouse and 2B Edwin Arroyo (2-for-5) to score; 3B Joey Terdoslavich also scored on an error later in the inning.

The Milkmen tied things back up in the next inning when LF Adam Brett Walker II (2-for-4) hit a solo home run.

The score remained tied until the bottom of the 10th inning when Walker II doubled and then scored when C Christian Correa hit a single to left to end the game. The Milkmen now sit .5 games clear of the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the standings.

 

Sioux Falls 3, St. Paul 1 – Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries picked up a 3-1 win against the St. Paul Saints on Tuesday night at home.

Both teams found the scoreboard in the second inning as 1B John Silviano (2-for-4) scored for the Saints when SS Nate Samson bounced out and C Roy Morales (2-for-2) homered for the Canaries in the bottom of the frame. SS Andrew Ely (4-for-4) doubled home CF Logan Landon in the next inning to take the lead for the Canaries. Ely added a solo homer in the eighth for an insurance run.

Starting pitcher Tyler Danish earned the win after throwing seven innings and allowing one run on seven hits while striking out two strikeouts. Reliever Keaton Steele notched the save for working the ninth without allowing a hit.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 5, Winnipeg 1 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks racked up 15 hits on the way to a 5-1 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Tuesday evening at Newman Outdoor Field.

The RedHawks took the lead in the bottom of the first as DH Drew Ward (2-for-4) singled home LF Brennan Metzger and 1B Correlle Prime (2-for-4) singled home CF Forrestt Allday (2-for-4). The Goldeyes’ only run came in the top of the second when CF Jonathan Moroney hit a lead-off home run. Ward added another two RBI in the third with a two-run homer, his 12th of the year. The RedHawks added one more in the sixth as 2B Christian Ibarra (2-for-4) scored when SS Sam Dexter (2-for-4) hit into a fielder’s choice.

Starting pitcher Matt Tomshaw went eight strong innings, allowing one run on six hits and improving to 4-3 on the year.
