RHP Shairon Martis led the way for the Saltdogs as they secured their 48th win on Saturday night to move twenty games above .500. Martis allowed a run on seven hits over eight innings while striking out four batters to earn his second win of the season. Martis was added by 3B Joe Robbins who slammed his third home run of the season and collected two hits. 2B Cesar Valera led all batters with two RBIs in the win and also contributed two hits. The Saltdogs took a 3-0 lead in the second inning before the teams traded blows in the fourth, with both teams scoring once to make it a 4-1 game. Neither team scored again as RHP Michael Wagner secured the win by collecting his 17th save of the season.

Gary Southshore 12, Fargo-Moorhead 5 – Box

The Redhawks looked to be in strong control on Saturday night, as they took a 5-0 lead into the seventh inning. In the seventh, DH Frank Martinez started the Railcats rally, hitting a ground-rule double that plated two. One batter later C Wilfredo Gimenez plated two with a single to make it a 5-4 game. The Railcats added five more runs in the seventh to take a 9-5 lead and scored three more in the ninth to win 12-5. Martinez finished with three hits and scored twice while also knocking in two runs. Gimenez collected a hit in each of his four at-bats in the victory. RHP Aryton Costa pitched seven innings to earn the victory, allowing five runs on nine hits while walking a batter. RHP Drasen Johnson pitched a scoreless ninth and picked up his eighth save of the year.

Winnipeg 11, Wichita 9 – Box

In an exciting affair that saw the two teams combine for twenty runs, the Goldeyes topped the Wingnuts to earn their 46th win of the season. After the Wingnuts took a 3-0 lead in the first, the Goldeyes scored once in the second to make it 3-1. The Wingnuts added three more runs in the third inning before the Goldeyes rallied, rattling off nine runs over the third and fourth innings to take a 10-6 lead. The Wingnuts again scored three runs in the sixth, but failed to score again as the Goldeyes won by two runs. LF Josh Romanski and 1B Shawn Pleffner both homered in the win each collecting their eighth home run of the season.RHP Victor Capellan pitched two scoreless innings to collect the win while striking out four batters. RHP Ryan Chaffee pitched a scoreless ninth and collected his 16th save.

Texas 3, Cleburne 1 – Box

The Airhogs and Railroaders each scored in the second inning on Saturday night, but failed to score again until a two-run sixth inning from the Airhogs. LF Charley Thurber and DH Levi Scott provided the RBIs in the sixth inning on a bases-loaded walk and a RBI single as the Airhogs clung to a two-run victory. RHP Jared Mortensen led the way with an impressive pitching performance as he threw eight innings of one-run ball. Mortensen (6-1) allowed just four hits and struck out six batters over the span. RHP Robert Tasin picked up his second save of the season, pitching a scoreless final frame.

Kansas City 5, Salina 4 (Final – 11 innings) – Box

The T-Bones walked-off in extra innings on Saturday night, as they defeated the Stockade on a RBI single off the bat of RF Chantz Mack. The run plated SS Jerome Pena who was on first base after leading off the inning with a single. The Stockade took a 2-0 lead in the second before the T-Bones countered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Stockade scored two more runs in the fifth to retake the lead before the T-Bones tied it again in the seventh to make it 4-4. That score held until extras when Mack’s hit ended the game and gave the T-Bones its 46th win of the season. Mack was 2-4 in the win and knocked in three runs. RHP Cody Winiarski pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Sioux Falls 7, St Paul 3 – Box

The Canaries picked up their second win in three games against the Saints in the weekend series, as they fought back from a 1-0 first inning deficit to rattle off three runs in the second. The Saints added a second run in the second, and the teams traded runs in the third to make it a 4-3 game. The Canaries scored a run in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings and the Saints failed to score again as the Canaries went on to win 7-3. RF Jabari Henry blasted his 19th home run of the season in the victory and also scored twice. LHP Bo Hellquist earned his second win of the season as he threw seven innings, allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and struck out three.
