Gary Southshore 3, Fargo-Moorhead 2 – Box

The Railcats rattled off a three-run sixth inning en route to their fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, as they swept the Redhawks in the process. The Redhawks briefly held the lead after going up 1-0 in the third before the Railcats overtook them in the sixth. 3B Kris Goodman was the hero, blasting a two-run double to take a 2-1 lead over the Redhawks. Goodman scored two plays later on an error, giving the Railcats their third run. The Redhawks started a mini-rally in the ninth but were unable to tie the game as they fell 3-2. Goodman was 1-4 with the two RBIs and the run scored. LHP Jeff McKenzie earned the victory, throwing six one-run innings in the win. McKenzie (2-3) allowed four hits, walked a batter and struck out four. RHP Drasen Johnson almost blew the save in the ninth but recovered after allowing a run to close the door and pick up his ninth save of the year.

Winnipeg 14, Wichita 5 – Box

The Goldeyes won their second consecutive game on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Wingnuts by nine runs to earn their 47th victory of the season. Before the Wingnuts knew what hit them the Goldeyes scored six runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. The Wingnuts added a run in the fifth, but the Goldeyes continued to extend the lead, scoring three times over the following two innings en route to the win. LF Josh Romanski and C Mason Katz both homered in the win, hitting their eighth and 12th home runs respectively. Romanski finished with four hits while scoring twice and knocking in five runs. Katz added three hits, scored four times, and drove in three runs. RHP Edwin Carl earned the victory, throwing 7.1 innings for the Goldeyes. Carl (8-3) allowed four runs on six hits and struck out three for the Goldeyes.

Salina 11, Kansas City 7 – Box

The Stockade got off to a hot start scoring once in the first inning en route to their 14th victory which allowed them to avoid the series sweep. The Stockade scored in three more innings as they added three runs in the third, five in the fifth and two in the ninth in their four-run win. C Jesse Baker and 2B Fernando Garza each collected three RBIs for the Stockade. Baker added three hits and scored twice in the win. Garza also contributed three hits. LHP Brian Smith earned the win as he threw six four-run innings. Smith (3-10) allowed six hits and struck out four batters.

Lincoln 5, Sioux City 4 – Box

The Saltdogs came from behind to defeat the Explorers on Sunday afternoon, as they walked-off on a two-run double from LF Brandon Jacobs. The Explorers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as DH LeVon Washington added one of his two RBIs on the day. The Saltdogs scored three times in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead over the Explorers. The Explorers retook the lead in the eighth as 1B Tyler Ogle singled to make it a 4-3 game. Then Jacobs bashed a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth to give the Saltdogs the narrow victory. RHP J.R Bunda picked up his ninth victory of the season in the win as he pitched a scoreless frame.
