DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Laredo Lemurs’ RHP Barret Loux (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 3rd.

Loux went 2-0 this week. On June 28, Loux logged his first victory of the season allowing only one earned through six innings, striking out five batters in a 9-4 win over the Joplin Blasters. Yesterday, the Texas A&M product had one of his best outings of the year tossing seven shutout innings, striking out nine while scattering just three hits in a 12-0 victory against the Texas AirHogs. Currently, Loux is 2-0 with a .72 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

In 2010, Loux was drafted in the first round (6th overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He would play in the organization until 2015, reaching the AAA level last year with the Iowa Cubs where he had a 3.18 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched. This is his first season with the Laredo Lemurs.

The Lemurs will be back in action tonight when they travel to Wichita to take on the Wingnuts at 7:05 PM from Lawrence Dumont Stadium. Select American Association games can be watched live for free on American Association TV.
