MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Winnipeg Goldeyes’ LHP Mitchell Lambson has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 15.

Lambson (3-2) earns the award after tossing a two-hit complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries on July 11. Lambson struck out six and walked one in his best performance of the season. Previously, his longest start of the year had been six innings.

The Lefty began his professional career in 2011 after being drafted by the Houston Astros in the 19th round of the MLB Draft out of Arizona State. Lambson spent four full seasons and part of a fifth season in the Astros’ organization before moving on to the Atlanta Braves’ organization midway through the 2015 season. The Glendale, Arizona native reached triple-A with Houston and Atlanta in 2015 as well as 2016 while in the Milwaukee Brewers’ organization. Lambson signed with Winnipeg in 2017 and posted a 7-3 record with a 3.98 ERA across 38 relief appearances and one start, the first of his pro career. 2018 is Lambsons first season as a full-time starter.
