EXPLORERS’ RELIEVER FALLWELL DOMINATES; PURCHASED BY PHILLIES

Falwell

MOORHEAD, MINNESOTA — The contract of Sioux City Explorers’ RHP Tyler Fallwell (pictured) has been purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies, the American Association announced on Monday.

Fallwell dominated his first stop in independent ball, allowing just two earned runs in 28 innings of relief across 23 appearances. The Righty’s 0.64 ERA is tops among Explorers’ pitchers with more than 15 innings of work.

The Tucson, Arizona native began his professional career in 2016 after being drafted in the 19th round of the MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. Fallwell spent 2016 and 2017 in the Royals organization, reaching single-A before signing with Sioux City in the offseason.
