Box Scores

Kansas City 4, Fargo-Moorhead 0

Kansas City’s Lucas Irvine (pictured) was masterful, twirling a complete-game four-hitter as his team snapped its six-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over Fargo-Moorhead.

The T-Bones (16-27) scored a pair of runs in the first on DH Matt Padgett’s RBI single and an RBI fielder’s choice by RF Nathan Ramler, and then tacked on another in the second via C Trevor Coleman’s solo homer. Kansas City’s final tally came in the seventh on SS Kody Hightower’s run-scoring single.

It was more than enough support for Irvine (2-3), who fanned five and did not allow a walk. Paul Burnside (3-5) took the loss for the RedHawks (25-18), allowing all four runs in six innings of work.

The T-Bones’ six hits were spread among six different players, with 2B Devin Goodwin and LF Steve Yoo each hitting doubles on the afternoon. CF Nic Jackson and 1B Keith Brachold both registered doubles for Fargo-Moorhead.

Sioux Falls 6, St. Paul 3

Sioux Falls used a superb start from Kyle Ruwe to earn a 6-3 win over St. Paul, ending the Canaries’ losing skid at seven.

Down 1-0, Sioux Falls (14-29) got on the board with a four-run fourth; after 3B Jared Clark rapped an RBI single, DH Tim Pahuta blasted a three-run homer, his 13th of the season. The Canaries then added one in the fifth, and another in the seventh on C Jake Taylor’s RBI double to make it a 6-1 game. The Saints (22-20) scored a pair in the ninth on CF Jose Hernandez’s two-run triple, but could come no closer.

Ruwe (4-5) gave up one run on eight hits in eight innings of work, walking just one. The loss went to St. Paul’s Kyle Roemer (4-5), who allowed five runs in six innings pitched.

Taylor went 3-for-4 on the day for Sioux Falls, while Clark and SS Cory Morales each had two base knocks. 1B Ole Sheldon led the Saints’ offensive attack with a 3-for-4 afternoon.
