Winnipeg 5, Sioux City 4 (Completion of Suspended Game from August 1 – 7 Innings) – Box

In the completion of the suspended game from Tuesday, Winnipeg tallied four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 5-1 lead and would go on to win the contest, 5-4 over Sioux City. Goldeyes LF Josh Romanski and 2B Jordan Ebert each had a pair of hits and a run scored while leadoff hitter Andrew Sohn launched a two-run home run in the big fifth inning rally. Winnipeg starting pitcher Mitchell Lambson allowed two earned runs over five innings pitched to nab the victory. Lambson gave up five hits and struck out five batters in a 75-pitch effort. With the win, the southpaw is now 5-2 on the season. For Sioux City, CF Tony Campana had a 3-for-4 game with a run scored, a RBI and three stolen bases.

Winnipeg 4, Sioux City 0 (Regularly Scheduled Game –  6 ½ Innings) – Box

In the regularly scheduled game, Winnipeg starting pitcher Edwin Carl tossed a complete game in the Goldeyes 4-0 rain shortened victory over Sioux City. Carl gave up only a pair of hits and three walks to go along with five strikeouts in an 87-pitch effort. With the win, the righty is now 7-3 on the season. Offensively for Winnipeg, DH David Bergin went 2-for-3 with two runs driven in while leadoff hitter Andrew Sohn added a pair of hits and scored a run. All four of the Goldeyes’ runs came in the fifth inning. Winnipeg has now won five straight and is one game ahead of Fargo-Moorhead in the North Division standings.

Kansas City 8, Cleburne 3 – Box

The Kansas City T-Bones scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to erase a 3-2 deficit and defeat the Cleburne Railroaders by the score of 8-3. Kansas City had 10 hits in the contest with DH Kevin Keyes leading the way going 2-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBI. T-Bones leadoff hitter Cedric Hunter had three hits in five at-bats, including a home run, along with three runs scored and a RBI while 1B Kyle Petty added a double in a 2-for-5 night. Kansas City starter Calvin Drummond threw six solid innings to pick up his sixth win of the year. Drummond allowed three unearned runs on five hits and struck out a batter.

Sioux Falls at Fargo-Moorhead (Postponed – Rain)

The game between Sioux Falls and Fargo-Moorhead was postponed due to rain. The two clubs will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, August 22 beginning at 5:05 PM from Sioux Falls Stadium.
