Fargo-Moorhead 4, Winnipeg 1 (Game 1/7 Innings) – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks took the first game of their doubleheader with the Winnipeg Goldeyes 4-1 on Tuesday evening Newman Outdoor Field.

The RedHawks took the lead in the top of the second when DH Alex Crosby bounced into a double play allowing 1B Drew Ward (2-for-3) to score. CF Brennan Metzger scored in the next inning when LF Forrestt Allday doubled. SS Wes Darvill homered in the bottom of the inning for the Goldeyes’ only run of the game.

The RedHawks capped off the scoring in the fourth when SS Christian Ibarra singled home Ward and Crosby scored when C Dylan Kelly bounced out.

 

Winnipeg 4, Fargo-Moorhead 3 (Game 2/7 Innings) – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (19-14) responded in game two of the doubleheader to split the day with a 4-3 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (12-21).

3B Leobaldo Pina (2-for-3) opened the scoring in the second with a solo home run but the Goldeyes took the lead in the top of the third as 2B Darnell Sweeney and 1B Kyle Martin (2-for-4) hit back-to-back RBI singles. In the fourth, DH Jordan George hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed SS Wes Darvill (3-for-3) to score and, in the fifth, Darville singled to plate Sweeney.

The RedHawks added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth as CF Brennan Metzger tripled and then scored when LF Forrest Allday reached on a dropped third strike but that proved to be the final run of the day.

 

St. Paul 8, Sioux Falls 6 – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (17-17) jumped out to a hot start and topped the Sioux Falls Canaries 8-6 on Tuesday evening.

In the top of the first, SS Nate Samson (2-for-5) singled home LF Alonzo Harris and he scored when DH Josh Allen (2-for-5) singled. The Saints tacked on three more runs in the second as CF Mikey Reynolds (3-for-6, 4 RBIs) singled home 1B John Silviano and R Max Murphy (2-for-5) and Samson singled to plate 2B Drew Stankiewicz. Reynolds singled again in the third to add two more runs. Samson drew a bases loaded walk in the seventh for the Saints final run of the day.

For the Canaries (17-16), 1B Alay Lago and 3B Damek Tomscha each had a pair of hits and 2B Grant Kay had a pair of RBIs.

Starting pitcher Ryan Zimmerman earned the win for throwing six innings and allowing four runs on five hits with three strikeouts and reliever Jameson McGrane picked up his 11th save with three strikeouts in the ninth.

 

Milwaukee 10, Chicago 7 – Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen (19-15) racked up 13 hits on the way to a 10-7 win against the Chicago Dogs (16-17).

All nine of the Milkmen recorded at least one hit in the game and three of them had multiple hits. 1B David Washington went 3-for-6 with a pair of runs and both 2B Dylan Tice and SS Mason Davis had a pair of hits, a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBIs. DH Jose Sermo had three RBIs as he, along with Tice and Davis, homered.

2B Edwin Arroyo led the Dogs with a three-hit performance and both CF Michael Crouse and RF Victor Roache added a pair of hits.
