DOGS, MILKMEN SPLIT SUNDAY DOUBLEHEADER

Milwaukee 3, Chicago 2 (Game 1/7 Innings) – Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen took game on of their Sunday doubleheader with the Chicago Dogs 3-2.

The Dogs took the lead in the top of the first inning with a solo shot from 3B Joey Terdoslavich and an RBI double from DH Tyler Lafendorf. In the third, 1B David Washington (2-for-4) doubled home SS Aaron Hill and scored when 3B Logan Trowbridge singled to tie the score for the Milkmen. In the next inning, Washington singled to center to score Hill again and take the lead for good.

Both teams recorded just five hits in game one. Reliever Anthony Bender was credited with the win for closing out the fifth inning by recording two outs. Reliever Peyton Gray earned the save with a perfect seventh.

 

Chicago 5, Milwaukee 3 (Game 2/6 Innings) – Box Score

The Chicago Dogs bounced back in the second game of their doubleheader with the Milwaukee Milkmen to take a 5-3 win.

The game was called after six innings due to rain and the two runs the Dogs scored in the top of the seventh were nullified as the Milkmen did not get the chance to bat.

The Milkmen scored first with a two-run shot from 3B Logan Trowbridge (2-for-3) in the bottom of the first but RF Victor Roache (2-for-3) responded with a two-run shot of his own in the next half-inning. SS Tyler Ladendorf (2-for-3) added a solo shot in the fourth and Roache scored two batters later when 3B Blake Allemande (2-for-3) singled. In the sixth, Allemande singled home Ladendorf and in the bottom half, LF Adam Walker singled to plate CF Brett Vertigan.

 

St. Paul 2, Sioux Falls 1 – Box Score

A pair of late home runs powered the St. Paul Saints past the Sioux Falls 2-1 on Sunday at CHS Field.

The Canaries’ only run came in the top of the fifth inning when C Clint Coulter hit a solo home run. The Saints tied the score in the seventh when 2B Josh Allen homered and in the next inning, LF Alonzo Harris homered to put the Saints in front.

Reliever Paul Voelker threw two pitches and recorded one out to pick up the win while starter Mike Devine took a hard-luck no decision for 7.2 innings of work where he gave up one run on seven hits with 8 Ks. Reliever Jameson McGrane notched the save.

 

Winnipeg at Fargo-Moorhead (Postponed/Weather)

The game between the Goldeyes and RedHawks was postponed due to weather on Sunday night. The game will be made up on Tuesday, August 11, at 6:00 p.m. CT as a part of a doubleheader. Both games will be seven innings but the Goldeyes will be the home team in game one and the RedHawks will be the home team in game two.AA
