Winnipeg 13 Houston 7

An early barrage led to a comfortable win for the Goldeyes (14-18) in a 13-7 decision over the Apollos (5-29) on Friday night at The Ballpark at Jackson.  Kyle Martin hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first before a four run second made it 7-0.  In the third, Logan Hill launched a solo shot and a walk to Max Murphy made it 9-0 Winnipeg.  Daniel Aldrich had two hits and drove in three for Houston.

Milwaukee 9 Fargo-Moorhead 7

Adam Brett Walker II homered again, and the Milkmen (22-13) won a seesaw affair over the RedHawks (20-15) by a 9-7 score on Friday night at Franklin Field.  After Correlle Prime opened the scoring with a three-run homer for Fargo-Moorhead in the first, Walker responded for Milwaukee with a two-run shot in the home half.  It was his fourth consecutive at-bat with a home run, dating back to Thursday.  The game-winning run was courtesy of Logan Trowbridge, who launched a two-run shot in the seventh to break a 6-6 tie.

Gary SouthShore 7 Sioux Falls 2

Thomas Walraven hit a game-tying two-run single to tie the game in the eighth, and the Railcats (16-19) broke the tie with a five-run ninth to beat the Canaries (17-17) 7-2 on Friday night at Sioux Falls Stadium.  Jabari Henry’s solo homer opened the scoring for Sioux Falls, and starter Tyler Garkow tossed six shutout innings, but the bullpen could not hold the lead.  In the ninth, Gary SouthShore scored five runs on six hits, including a two-run double by Alec Olund.

Kane County 7 Chicago 2

The Cougars (16-20) broke a 2-2 tie with five runs on just two hits in the eighth to beat the Dogs (21-15) by a 7-2 win on Friday Night at Impact Field.  After Chicago tied the game with two in the seventh, a walk to Mitch Reeves forced home the game winning run before insurance runs came from a Jack Surin two-run single.  Josh Tols went 6.2 IP, allowing just four hits and two earned run while striking out seven.

Lincoln 3 Kansas City 2 F/8

Ryan Long hit the eventual walk-off solo home run in the eighth inning and the Saltdogs (16-16) beat the Monarchs (19-14) 3-2 in eight innings of a rain-shortened affair.  Gabriel Guerrero broke the ice with a solo homer in the second for Kansas City, but Skylar Weber and Patrick Adams each plated runs in the bottom half.  Kevin Santa grounded out to tie the game in the seventh, before Long’s walk-off shot.

Sioux City 9 Cleburne 0 (Forfeit)

Due to a mechanical issue with the team bus, the Railroaders (16-18) never made it to Sioux City, which led to the league declaring the game a 9-0 forfeit for the Explorers (23-11).  The two teams will play on Saturday evening.
