Chicago 14, Sioux Falls 12 (10 Innings) – Box Score

The Chicago Dogs survived a ninth-inning rally to edge the Sioux Fall Canaries 14-12 in 10 Innings on Sunday evening in Sioux Falls.

The Dogs were leading 12-10 heading into the bottom of the ninth, thanks in large part to a pair of four-run innings in the fifth and sixth. In the bottom of the ninth, CF K.C. Huth (2-for-5, 4 RBI) reached base on a dropped third strike and 1B Grant Kay took that opportunity to score. SS Andrew Ely tied things up with a single that plated 2B Ryan Brett.

In the 10th, RF Victor Roache  (4-for-6, 3 RBI) hit a lead-off home run and 2B Harrison Smith (2-for-3, 3 RBI) came around to score when CF Michael Crouse (3-for-6, 3 RBI) singled and then benefited from an error.

1B K.C. Hobson and C Garrett Hope each added a pair of hits for the Dogs.

 

St. Paul 5, Winnipeg 1 (12 Innings) – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints blew the doors off the game in the 12th inning to top the Winnipeg Goldeyes 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at Newman Outdoor Field.

The game was tied at 1-1 after nine innings thanks to an RBI singled from LF Alonzo Harris (3-for-5) in the top of the second and a solo home run from C John Nester (2-for-5) in the bottom half. 10 innings later, the Saints loaded up the bases and DH Troy Alexander singled to score RF Max Murphy. In the next at-bat, CF Mikey Reynolds reached on a fielder’s choice and after an error, Harris scored. SS Nate Samson reached on an error in the next at-bat allowing Reynolds and Alexander to score.

Reliever Jameson McGrane came on to pitch the bottom of the 12th and after a lead-off walk, he retired the side in order to finish off the win.

 

Milwaukee 10, Fargo-Moorhead 2 – Box Score

Th Milwaukee Milkmen racked up 15 this on the way to a 10-2 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Field.

Eight Milkmen recorded at least one hit in the game and four of them had more than one. RF Zach Nehrir went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and DH Adam Walker went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and his ninth homer of the season. CF Brett Vertigan and C Christ Conley each added a pair of hits as well.

For the RedHawks, CF Brennan Metzger, RF Correlle Prime and 1B Drew Ward each had a pair of hits and Ward was responsible for both Fargo runs with a two-run homer in the third.
