CRENSHAW THROWS COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT IN WIN OVER MILKMEN

St. Paul 4, Milwaukee 0 – Box Score

St. Paul starter Dustin Crenshaw tossed a complete game shutout in helping the Saints defeat Milwaukee by the final of 4-0.

The 30-year-old Crenshaw gave up only five hits and a walk while striking out one in the 30 batters he faced. The righty threw 96 pitches in this outing and 69 of them went for the strikes. Crenshaw now sports a 3-1 record with the victory.

Offensively for the Saints, CF Dan Motl led the way going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. St. Paul LF Blake Schmit had a pair of hits in three at-bats along with scoring a run while leadoff hitter Max Murphy and 2B Josh Allen each collected an RBI.

For Milwaukee in the loss, 2B Garrett Copeland went 2-for-3.

 

Winnipeg 8, Cleburne 6 – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes rallied for six runs over their final two trips to the plate to erase a 6-2 deficit and beat Cleburne by the score of 8-6. With the victory, Winnipeg picked-up their 14th win of the season.

The Goldeyes had 12 hits in the contest with eight of the nine batters in the lineup collecting at least one. Winnipeg RF Willy Garcia had a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate with two runs scored while C Kevin Garcia collected three hits in four at-bats along with a home run and two RBIs. Second baseman Alex Perez also helped the Winnipeg offense by picking up a hit and plating two runs.

Goldeyes pitcher Marcus Crescentini tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the victory. The righty struck out one in the three batters he faced. With the victory, Crescentini is now 3-0 on the season.

Third baseman K.C. Huth went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs in the loss for the Railroaders.

 

Sioux Falls 6, Gary SouthShore 3 – Box Score

Sioux Falls scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 5-0 lead and would go on from there to beat Gary SouthShore by the score of 6-3.

The Canaries had three batters with multi-hit games including 2B Alay Lago who went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Sioux Falls SS Andrew Ely plated a run and drove in one in a perfect 2-for-2 night while RF Clint Coulter collected three hits and scored two runs. The Canaries in total had 10 hits in the contest.

Sioux Falls starter Alex Boshers gave up two earned runs over six innings of work to notch his third win of the season. Boshers gave up two walks and six hits to go with three punchouts. It is his third win in his last four starts.

For Gary SouthShore in the losing effort, 2B Andy DeJesus contributed a solo home run, his third of the season.

 

Lincoln 4, Texas 3 – Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs earned their third consecutive victory as they edged past Texas by a 4-3 final.

Lincoln jumped out on top 2-0 in the third inning as the Saltdogs scored a pair of runs via a walk and a sacrifice fly by SS Ivan Marin. The AirHogs would plate a run in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by 1B Chen Junpeng only to see Lincoln get the run back in the bottom half of the inning as they scored a run on a sacrifice fly by C Tyler Moore. The clubs traded runs in the sixth to make it a 4-2 Saltdogs lead before the AirHogs plated a run in the ninth to make it a one-run game. Texas would leave the bases loaded in the ninth to end the ballgame.

Lincoln 2B John Sansone and DH Curt Smith each picked-up a hit and scored two runs while Moore drove in a pair of runs and went 1-for-2.

Starting pitcher John Brownell tossed 6 2/3 solid innings to earn the win for the Saltdogs. Brownell gave up two earned runs on five hits and fanned nine batters. The righty is now 3-1 on the season.

 

Chicago 11, Kansas City 5 – Box Score

The Chicago Dogs scored four runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to rally from a 4-3 deficit and beat Kansas City, 11-5.

Chicago had a solid offensive attack tonight against the T-Bones as three players had multi-hit games while five of them scored a pair of runs. Dogs CF Tony Rosselli led the way at the plate going 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Chicago 1B Keon Barnum scored two runs and drove in two in a 2-for-5 night while DH Carlos Zambrano had two hits in four at-bats and two RBIs.

Dogs pitcher Kyle Halbohn threw a scoreless inning of relief to pick-up his first win of the 2019 season. Halbohn gave up a hit and struck out two in the three batters he faced.

For Kansas City, 2B Dylan Tice and CF Darnell Sweeney each had a 2-for-5 outing at the dish.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 5, Sioux City 3 – Box Score

Fargo-Moorhead jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 ½ innings of play and would cruise from there to defeat Sioux City by the final of 5-3.

The RedHawks went out to a 1-0 advantage in the second inning as 3B Leobaldo Pina hit a solo home run. Fargo-Moorhead would score four more in the third to take the 5-0 lead thanks to a two-run double by CF Devan Ahart and a two-RBI single by 2B T.J. Bennett. The Explorers would add a single run in the third and two more in the eighth but would come up short.

RedHawks starter Sebastian Kessay threw six innings and nabbed his third win of the year. The 25-year-old allowed an earned run on three hits and fanned four batters. Kessay has a mark of 3-0.
