Winnipeg Goldeyes 9, Kane County Cougars 6 (10 innings) – Box Score
A costly error gave the Goldeyes three runs in the top of the 10th inning to give Winnipeg a 9-6 win over Kane County.
Zack Costello hit an single to bring in a runner and Raul Navarro a triple to bring in two more in the top of the tenth inning. IF Kyle Martin and OF Max Murphy both hit their fourth home run of the season during the game Sunday. Ken Frosch picked up the win and Cory Thompson the save for Winnipeg (5-6).
OF Jeffrey Baez hit a three run home run for his first home run of the season for Kane County (7-5). IF Nick Zammarelli hit his first home run of the season as well, a solo homer. Kyle Huckaby took the loss, giving up four runs (one earned).
Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 11, Houston Apollos 3 – Box Score
The offense exploded for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in an 11-3 win over the Houston Apollos Sunday.
OF John Silviano hit his third home run of the season, a two-run home run in the fifth inning, for the RedHawks (8-4). Silviano record two total hits and three RBI in the game. Catcher Dylan Kelly recorded two hits and three RBI as well.
P Kevin McGovern turned it a great performance, striking out ten batters over seven innings.
OF Brain Dansereau hit a two-run home run in the first inning to give the Apollos (1-10) an early lead. DH Blake Berry hit his second home run of the season, this one being a solo shot.
P Matt Cronin recorded the loss for the Apollos, giving up five runs in four innings.
Gary SouthShore RailCats 4, Milwaukee Milkmen 2 – Box Score
Two late runs for the RailCats gave them a 4-2 win over Milwaukee Sunday.
OF Raymond Jones broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh with a RBI-single for the RailCats (6-6). IF Phil Caulfield hit a solo home run in the ninth to give the RailCats an insurance run.
Cas Silber recorded the win, Chris Erwin the save.
IF Christ Conley brought in a run for the Milkmen (6-5). IF LoganTrowbridge and OF Adam Brett Walker II scored runs. Pitcher David Holmberg recorded the loss, striking out six in six and two-thirds innings.
Cleburne Railroaders 7, Kansas City Monarchs 0 – Box Score
Damage by the top of the lineup and great pitching led Cleburne to a 7-0 victory over Kansas City.
IF Ramon Hernandez drove in four runners and picked up a triple for the Railroaders (5-7). OF Zach Nehrir hit a two-run home run. SP Michael Mariot struck out six over six innings, giving up five hits and no runs.
IF Ryan Grotjohn recorded two hits for the Monarchs (4-6). P Robinson Martinez recorded the loss, giving up one run over three innings.
Chicago Dogs 5, Sioux City Explorers 3 – Box Score
A four run fifth inning gave the Chicago Dogs the lead and gave Chicago a 5-3 win over the Sioux City Explorers.
OF Danny Mars drove in two runs in the fifth. IF Grant Kay, IF K.C. Hobson, and IF Johnny Adams drove in one run each. Chicago (7-5) used six pitchers, and Juan Echevarria recorded the win. Paul Schwendel struck out two in recording the save.
OF Sebastian Zawada recorded two hits and two RBI for Sioux City (7-4). 1B Jared Walker brought in a run. P Tyler Beardsley struck out six in four and a third innings.
Lincoln Saltdogs 8, Sioux Falls Canaries 2 – Box Score
Three players for the Lincoln Saltdogs recorded multiple RBI to give Lincoln an 8-2 win over Sioux Falls Sunday.
OF Justin Byrd, IF Josh Altmann and OF Edgar Corcino brought in two runners each for Lincoln (6-5). Byrd also recorded his first home run of the season. The winning pitcher was Kyle Kinman, who struck out five over six innings of work.
IF Mitch Glasser recorded a double and a triple while bringing in two runs for Sioux Falls (6-5). Pitcher Carlos Pimentel pitched seven innings, striking out eight and giving up three runs.
