CORREA HITS A WALK-OFF HOMER FOR MILWAUKEE

Milwaukee 4, St. Paul 3 – Box Score

Down to their last strike, the Milwaukee Milkmen walked off on the St. Paul Saints 4-3 with a two-run home run from C Christian Correa.

The Milkmen entered the bottom of the ninth down 3-2 but DH Jose Sermo drew a lead-off walk to start the rally. Aaron Hill came on to pinch run for Sermo and stole second after 2B Dylan Tice popped out to third. RF Zach Nehrir struck out for the second out bringing Correa to the plate with two away and the tying run on second. Down 0-2 Correa hit his third homer of the year for the walk-off win.

For the game, 1B David Washington was the only batter for either team to have more than on hit as he went 2-for-4 with a run scored. For the Saints, CF Mikey Reynolds homered and both C Mitch Ghelfi and 3B Drew Stankiewicz added RBIs.

 

Sioux Falls 11, Winnipeg 6 – Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries powered past the Winnipeg Goldeyes 11-6 on Friday night at home in the friendly confines of Sioux Falls Stadium.

The Canaries tallied 12 hits in the game and seven different batters had at least one. RF Clint Coulter led the way as he went 2-for-4 and both of his hits left the yard as he racked up four RBIs. Coulter now has 7 homers on the year. 1B Alay Lago, 3B Damek Tomscha, CF Logan Landon and C Roy Morales each added a pair of hits and Lago and Morales each had a pair of RBIs.

For the Goldeyes, their 10 hits came from just four batters as SS Wes Darvill and 1B Kyle Martin each went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and DH Dario Pizzano and LF Jordan George each went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

 

Chicago at Fargo-Moorhead – Postponed (Rain)

The game between the Chicago Dogs and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks was postponed due to heavy rains. The game will be made up tomorrow, Saturday, August 15 as a part of a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. Central Time.
